Mac Equivalent to Microsoft Image Viewer/Paint |
|
Basically, I'm looking for what the title says. A basic picture editing program, and something that lets me quickly browse/zoom through my photos, as well as slideshow (besides iPhoto).

I just use Preview to view photos, but you have to select all the pictures you want to view before opening it.
As for Paint, the closest thing I've found is PaintBrush. ------------------- quote TurMoiL911

quote axforts2212i agree it does what photshop without making your life impossible and its less heavy than photshop, in the sense that it wont usually freeze, and make your mac crash all the way down. ------------------- ![]() Join GoBad Chaos commanders Join Time Warp Join the Star meteor clan

quote Duncan IdahoWhat are you talking about? I have photoshop CS4 for my design work...I find it much more powerful than gimp, but at the same time it doesnt ever freeze, and never crashes my mac. Gimp is just the best you can get for free, and for 90% of people gimp has enough tools to satisfy even most graphic designers. ------------------- ![]() Guestbook Do it Yourself Forum

re: Mac Equivalent to Microsoft Image Viewer/Paint |
quote axforts2212at least in my mac it does, it takes a long while to charge/open, and afterwards after opening an image it usually get onto an infinite loop of chargign wich frozes me to turn off the comp, then when i turn it on 70% of the time ergo, based on a 10=100%, 7 of 10 times the comp goes onto an infinite loop of never charging the finder, or any program at all, afterwards, i have to go all the way to make a hardware test,t hen try to reinstall and reinitiate my mac for it to start running again..., all that happens when i used photoshop, fire fox and that kind of programs, photoshop just takes too much time, and get annoyining i prefer gimp, easy commands, easy way to make banners (like the one i have in my sig), i dont like photoshop, not even when i used i in windows, 90% of the time i had to reinstall software was due photoshop using too much memory of my tower (AKA CPU). ------------------- ![]() Join GoBad Chaos commanders Join Time Warp Join the Star meteor clan

.....wtf is charging?????????
Then your computer is serverely *bleep*ed up. Firefox should not do that. Photoshop should not do that. If Photoshop did that, it wouldnt retail for 700 dollars, and I wouldnt have shelled that money out for something that I could get for free(ergo Gimp) ------------------- ![]() Guestbook Do it Yourself Forum

re: Mac Equivalent to Microsoft Image Viewer/Paint |
quote axforts2212lol my uncle bought phtoshop for his mac long ago, and charging=loading, also fire fox some times freezes and makes every inch of my system freeze i cant press the commands for it to force the exit due that every inch of my mac freezes, i reinstalled twice the software and it happens like lasst time, that why im using camino less risky to crash anyway i like gimp and a lot, at least loads faster than phtoshop, but thats just me. ------------------- ![]() Join GoBad Chaos commanders Join Time Warp Join the Star meteor clan

re: Mac Equivalent to Microsoft Image Viewer/Paint |
quote Duncan IdahoNo one calls it charging, the proper term is loading. How old is your computer? It sounds like you have an ancient mac that is using outdated hardware to run newer programs that its not made to do. And memory is completely different than the CPU. You cant say memory (aka cpu) because they are 2 completely different things. ------------------- quote TurMoiL911
