It's been vaguely confirmed that a major character will be leaving us in Gears 2. Who? Discuss amongst yourselves (this isn't a kill off who you hate discussion).

I would say Dom because he is the second most important character and there would be a touching moment where Marcus shows emotion. If they killed of Marcus it wouldn't be a good move. Despite how unlikeable he is, I get attatched to him.

It could well be Dom. They're building up his character further this installment (whole thing with Maria), so it could well culminate in his death. As long as Baird isn't topped, I'm fine with it.

It'll probably be one of the new characters, TBH.

Just hope it isnt a "Jam" Snipe again.

I somehow doubt they'd bring in a new character (one of the main ones btw) just to kill them off in their first game.

I'm 90% sure it's Dom. He's the character that's the most vulnerable, IMO, because of his relationship with both Marcus and Maria.

I'm betting Dom also, the Rendezvous trailer didn't look too promising for him and as Cdemon said, he's the most vulnerable. But yeah, it's pretty obvious that he's the one. His storyline will be deeper in Gears 2, and he will most likely die trying to save Maria. I just wish it could have been the new characters. :/

Time to agree with everyone else. I figure it'll be Dom.

I figure on Maria.

I say that she'll enter the game fairly early as a character, soften up Dom's personality (giving us glimpses of their past together and how happy Dom is when she's around), then she'll be killed or kidnapped. This turn of events can call out emotions like terror, sympathy, anger, etc in Dom. Can you imagine a sequence where a previously happy Dom is weeping? Strange to see such a big, macho guy break down to tears. Marcus can call out emotion as well as he comforts his friend.

I highly doubt that Dom will die, mainly because of his position in the story. If Dom dies, then that'll leave Marcus as an empty character since he won't have anyone to look after. Who is he going to attach to in the story? If they do kill Dom, it would be best to do it at the very end of the story, much as HL2: E2 did to a major character. You need Dom to get through the story and to round out Marcus and his quiet demeanor.

I'm gonna laugh so hard if Cole dies a pointless death, pretty much like Carmine.

If he dies I'm sure he'll be revived for the third installment of the game, just like Carmine

Well it wouldn't make sense to kill off Dom at all during the actual game as it would force the second player to be someone else. Imma say its ether Baird or Hoffman, I can see ether of them dieing uncharacteristically saving Marcus from something like a Boomer or a Berserker
