quote DragonMaster_DyneYeah, you may be right about that. Seems to make a lot of sense. I wonder how this will work with the shotgun instead. ------------------- ![]()

Probably a curbstomp, like Justin suggested. ------------------- ![]() quote Jim Haslett

D'you reckon that'll be in multiplayer though? 'cos it would suck having to be dragged around by the enemy, -------------------

I was thinking it would be a campaign-specific deal. -------------------

I'm pretty sure it's going be on both. Not to mention, this won't be the only execution other than the curbstomp from what I'm seeing. It's funny though, most of the ideas in this forum are actually being featured in the game. ------------------- ![]()

Well in multiplayer it would be abused, so you have to make some pretty heavy penalties for taking someone hostage. Such as giving the person an ability to break out of the hold by pressing a button rapidly, dying sooner, or at very least when you die after being held hostage, your hostage taker is stunned for a while, making him a sitting duck.

I think its a lot easier for someone to get killed while holding a hostage. Its an easy snipe to the head if you ask me. Plus, you'll move slowly. ------------------- ![]()

re: Gears of War 2 Debut starts at 1 AM |
quote SerephI think something like that last part would work well. As you pointed out, such a feature would be abused, so you should be able to either fight your way out of the shield, or stun/kill your enemy at a certain point of being held. -------------------

That makes you an easy target if a person is coming behind or the other team has a sniper; It leaves your head exposed and drastically reduces your speed. ------------------- ![]() quote Jim Haslett

Something I just noticed, guys: When he walks up to the downed locust, it says "Hit A for [hostage?]." Perhaps this is what's displayed when you're at his head and the curbstomp somewhere else? ------------------- ![]() quote Jim Haslett

I'm thinking that it would be the other way around Curtis. You don't take someone hostage from their front.
