Now if they'd only add Ma Dai, Guan Xing, Zhang Bao, Deng Ai, Chen Wu, Guo Huai, Wang Ping, Xu Sheng, and Nobuyuki Sanada to this.

"Warriors Orochi: Rebirth of the Demon Lord"

Even though it is Koei shamelessly milking the franchise (WO was supposed to be a PS2 farewell!), I'm still excited. Partly because with no PS3, I can't enjoy the half-made DW6. SW2:XL just became almost obsolete with their new cast members joining WO2.

The biggest draw of WO:RotDL--

VERSUS mode!

Look at the screen below Nu Wa! Looks like that mode is DW/SW returning to its PS1 roots of a side-view fighting game! Now like Marvel vs. Capcom or Tekken Tag with allies you can swap in.

KW explains:
On the left is Taigong Wang, a Chinese semi-myth figure who was also known as Jiang Ziya. His weapon is a fishing rod. Oh, and for a fun fact, he is Tai in Mystic Heroes (old PS2 Koei game).

The right one is Taira no Kiyomori, a general in the Heian Period. His weapon is a big rosary.

BlackKite explains character details:
Kiyomori is planning to revive Orochi. Taigong Wang comes to the crossover world in order to prevent Orochi's revival.

I hope in this game characters are a challenge to unlock. Not just finishing a level, finishing it in style, like how you unlocked Musahi Miyamoto on the first game. It may have been annoying when one of the guys died but hey it made the game last longer.

For the second time, this game has NOTHING to do with DW6. It is just all the PS2 characters in one game.

Opening Lu Bu and Tadekatsu in the last game was great, more characters being opened as a process through more than one level would be good IMO, that'll make it longer and harder. Perhaps all the levels would be from one musou though so that a character will join a specific faction.

Also, since the characters are already in factions, won't they want to fight with you? Unless they want to defect, there wouldn't be any "winning over a characters heart" type missions as they're already all happy where they start...so I'm not quite sure how characters would be unlocked when you already start with them as such...if you know what I mean...

Yup I agree. Completely different sort of sub missions within the main aim enhanced the levels like protecting or killing messengers, supply troops or peasants (although many times I failed a level because of those weaklings Opening Keiji was a great level IMO, I'd like to see more like that

I loved unlocking Keiji! Musahi was a different story though.
