Fatal Frame IV looks fantastic. The new over-the-shoulder camera is a definite improvement on the fixed camera angles that were in previous FF games, and it looks like the general gameplay has had a bit of an upgrade too. Here's hoping an American release date is announced soon!

The over the shoulder view is probably the best thing they could have done for this series.

I remember how annoying it was in the other games when the camera angle would change and your character would start going in the opposite direction of where you wanted to go. (I used to play through FF2 in FPS to avoid that, even though FPS is less scary to me)

i thought the over the shoulder view would be a bad move. but FF4 looks a lot scarier with it. I'm glad for the change.

Im not really familiar with this series, so I dont really know what to expect. The only survival horror game i really ever got into was Resident Evil 4.

Then you have explored none of the genre. Resident Evil 4 wasn't horror, it wasn't survival and it wasn't fun. Fatal Frame, on the other hand, is all of those things.

Anyways, this game looks great! The graphics look really good for a Wii game as well.

I think Ncjpr1993 meant that Resident Evil is more action-y. While Fatal Frame is more about horror.

Where do you see my mention of action in FF? BTW, my post contained both opinion and fact. While calling RE4 not fun is an opinion, it is a fact that it is not a survival horror game. Call me crazy, but I don't consider cutting down hordes of enemies with high tech weaponry survival, RE4 would fall more into the action genre. Sorry if you are an RE4 fan, but I try my hardest to state my opinions as best as I can without starting a flame war.

Anyways, those videos look amazing! I have been looking for a new horror game to play ever since I beat Condemned 2. Sorry if this has been discussed in another thread, but will this be released in America? I am planning to go to Japan soon, but the wait will kill me.

The way I see it, RE4 is a survival horror IMO, not a fan of anything, just an opinion.

I see RE4 as a shooter or action game. if it wasn't a Resident Evil game i think there would be less confusion over what genre it should be placed into. but this is just my opinion.

Every fatal frame game has been released in america so FF4 has a high chance of being released in america too. But no official announcement yet.

Did I claim to know anything the genre? I said its the only one I "got into", meaning I really liked it.
I think I know a good bit of the genre, I've played Clock Tower, Alone in the Dark and Silent Hill- which I thought was creepy but again, I just didn't "get into it".

I've played RE 1, 2, and 3. They weren't scary or fun and I guess they were survival. Even in action games its Game Over if u don't survive.

Agreed. I don't see a difference between the old games and 4, except that it was actually fun had genuine thrills and chills. Who cares if there was little extra ammo?
Like you guys said its just a matter opinion, u either like the game or you don't, so lets move on.



I haven't played any of the Fatal Frame series I'm sorry to say, but the videos GG posted got me curious about the game. And its a horror game on Wii.

Videos look cool, but I'll have to play it first!
