Being a complete Fatal Frame addict (and proud), I am compelled to question whether or not this recently announced fact of Fatal Frame 4 being on Wii is a wise decision. Personally, I'm a little aggitated. I don't doubt that Fatal Frame 4 will be great on Wii, we all know that it's going to be a great game regardless. However, I am a little dubious as to how Nintendo is going to pull this off. From what I understand with the Wii, I feel that sticking to the "usual" consoles would work better for the 1st-person to 3rd-person views that take place in the game (by "usual", I mean a console that has a traditional controller). By all means, the graphics will most definitely be phenominal, especially with Wii's great system quality when it comes to things like that. Whether or not the following is true is unknown to me, this is simply a rumor that has been floating around: Supposedly, Fatal Frame 4 is going to be a Wii exclusive game. Personally, I am against it. I think that it would be a risky marketing idea. As much of a die-hard fan I am of Fatal Frame, I am not going to go out and buy an entire Wii system just for this game. Why not put it out on the other new generation consoles? Like I said, I am not sure if this is true or not...I pray that it isn't.

So, now you know my position on this matter, what's yours?

Honestly I can see where you are coming from, but as someone that is new to the series (me), I dont see why this should be a big deal. Unless you want the game to have that "Next Gen" feel to it (graphics wise). But with talent you can create an excellent game on any system (thats if you look at the graphics more than anything else). So I definitely agree with this game going to the Wii; I'm actually looking forward to this game on the Wii.

I was going to get a Wii for Super Smash bros Brawl, but then I heard Fatal Frame was coming out for it, so now I want the Wii even more.
I don't doubt that the game will be awesome, but the only problem for me is the Wiimote. There is a wii controller that looks exactly like a Gamecube controller. I'll probably get this controller and only play those fun little mini games with the Wiimote.
As for the Wii exclusive-ness. That will suck, but keep in mind, the directors cut for the first two games were sent to the Xbox, because at the time, the Xbox was better graphics wise. Perhaps Fatal Frame 3 and 4 will also be moved to different consoles for directors cut versions.

I originally wasn't going to get a Wii when it came out. I don't buy new systems because they're new, I buy them because there's a game for that system I really want to play, and Fatal Frame IV could easily be the game to force me to buy a Wii. Personally, I think they should stick with keeping the series on the PS2... mainly so I don't have to spend a couple hundred bucks on a new video game console just for one game. ^.^;

I agree and disagree. I as well don't have a doubt that Fatal Frame for the Wii will rock my socks off, but I think it should be more than just a Wii title. I think it rightfully deserves to be on the PS3, or even (atleast) PS2, why you may ask? Because the other 3 were for the PS2, so why stop with Fatal Frame 3. I believe the Xbox lost the Fatal Frame series from going on their consoles after the second game, since the third ended up being a PS2 exclusive.

But even so, with FF4 BEING a Wii exclusive title it pretty much means I am going to buy a Wii (though few games interest me in the console, Fatal Frame 4 is a MUST HAVE). But I would much rather it come to the PS2 or PS3 since I already own the PS3 and I think they should continue the series fourth installment on Sony's consoles.

One downfall I see from the game being on the Wii are the graphics. This is a horror game and the ghosts/spirits should look scary, but if the graphics aren't that great, they could just look weird instead.

Being a exclusive to the Wii is a good and bad thing. I think it adds to the possible game selection that the Wii lacks. But, it means that a lot of people would miss out on playing it because they aren't willing to go out and buy the Wii just for this game. I think it would be better off being on all 3 consoles.

I see where your coming from neto_360 on having it go multi platform. But then it starts another complaint (flame or whatever you want to call it) about how come it doesn't look as good as the other 2 systems? It goes on and on. But I'm happy to see this game on the Wii. Can't wait to see what it looks like and how it plays first hand...

That's a rather harsh statement, the Wii is capable of pushing graphics just past the Ps2's capability (from what is available for it now). xD Joking aside, Fatal Frame 3 on the PS2 was a god-awesomely graphically accomplished game. Fatal Frame on the Wii could possibly do just as well, though I'm interested on how it will look when it's finally released.

Well, seeing as most Wii games don't look all that great, it could be a downfall for Fatal Frame if it isn't worked on with 100% effort.

I'm 50/50 when it comes to Fatal Frame IV being released on Wii.

On one hand, I'm very interested in seeing how the Wiimote will be used for the game, considering Tecmo seems to have specific plans for bringing the game to Wii and using the Wiimote itself. They think that the horror genre can be advanced with the Wii's controls, so it'll be interesting to see what they have in mind.

On the other hand, I'm a little disappointed that it's on Wii, because we won't be seeing the game in PS3 graphics. Such detailed graphics could create an incredibly terrifying atmosphere.
And let's face it, some of the ghosts in the series have looked silly, rather than scary, due to the limits of the PS2's graphics. Here's hoping Tcmo don't try to out-do themselves and have a similar thing happen on the Wii.

But don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the screenshots we've been given so far, so I'm definitely not disappointed with the graphics at this point. Though they're only the FMVs ... I'm more eager to see what the in-game images will look like.

I have to agree with Neto here(must be a first lol). I'll tell you why:

1. There is no doubt the wii is a very cool system, but since i haven't played much of this series, i would like it to come out for the 3 systems.

Im not going to spend close to $300 for a Wii, a controller and a game just to play it, its stupid.

Having it on 3 system, can benefit not only the fans here and the developers, like Tecmo.

How, well not only can it increase sales on the 3 system combined, which means gets more money from it, it also allows them to make each version of this game and take use of all 3 systems specialties. Its a win win to be honest.

Sure i agree with GG and Neto on the Graphics part, but i don't have money to spend on another system at this point in time, at least not a Wii(i wasn't planning on getting it right now) since im getting a 360 in a few months before Ninja Gaiden 2 comes out.

The Wii games isn't all about Graphics, as some people know already. And what i read in gamegrep about Graphics isn't everything, but im pretty sure this series should be based off it, at some degree. Although Gothic Girl does make a point that the ghost could very well be unrealistic, and silly rather than scary, since this series is a horror game.

In my honest opinion, nothing good can come out of this, if it stays exclusive for Wii. Games like this are supposed to be multiplats, it was never a known exclusive.
Thats my take on it, take it as you will.

I am not saying that buying the Wii just for this game is a dumb idea. My friend bought the Wii just for Brawl so.... XD Fans will buy a Wii though if they want the game badly enough, which would only help Nintendo. For the game itself though, going on all consoles would be a better choice in my opinion.

Just hope that they take their time on the game and make the ghosts believable and scary XD The Wii has shown that it is capable of awesome graphics.

I was sent a message from someone called FinalFantasyWII on youtube and decided this was worth checking out. I love Fatal Frame and I thought it would be cool to play it on the wii then I thought about how the control would be and I was wondering if they'd make the game controller a camera obscura it would be really cool. Then I thought that it might give me some nightmares which I've missed since beating Fatal Frame 3 four months after I bought it.

Well, in my opinion, I don't disagree but...

I wanted it to be released on the PS3 because like...I finally managed to get it, and was hoping to have this game on the PS3 as well, along with my favorite games, they're being released on the PS3 as well so like...it'd be great if they would release a version on PS3, but still featured on Wii, that way, everyone will be satisfied. XD
