Novel: Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases

Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases is the very first novel based off the Death Note series. I myself have already read the novel and have to say, it was great and really officially ended the series with a bang!

I'm wondering though, have you read the novel yet? And if so did you like it? What appealed to you in the book, what did you like and what didn't you like? Discuss.

I'm gonna buy it...soon. It wasn't at the bookstore, though. Guess I should try a different one. I've heard good things about it from Lei14.

Yeah Lei14 told me she had read the Novel too. You really should get your hands on it though because it really is a great addition to Death Note. Anyone who doesn't get a chance to read it are definitely missing out and should try what they can to read it.

If you have a Walden Books or a Books-A-Million in your area you should try looking at ether of those stores, I know they will have it, they are selling it where I live. Also if you check Movies FYE Music they may have it as well.

Good luck with getting the novel Epic! ^__^

Death Note 13: How To Read was basically just a recap on all that has happened in Death Note. Lots of spoilers there! But it also provided readers with the pilot version to Death Note, what started it all. Along with interviews of Obha and Obata which were interesting to read while complete profiles on many of the characters that appeared in Death Note. Basically the Ultimate Death Note Encyclopedia! ^__^

I would suggest you get it as well, it's interesting and gives you the feeling of completing the Death Note series after reading this book as well, even though there are massive amounts of text that could take awhile to read.

re: Novel: Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases

*shudder* People talk about me when I'm not even here...

To put it simply: I love this novel. To Death. >=\

The writing style is somewhat captivating, and it is able to keep you on the edge of your seat. The portrayal of the characters is very endearing, and you find yourself liking them even more than you did in the actual series.
It has various new takes on things, and we're able to understand the viewpoints of certain characters a little better. I know it's not by the original author, but Ni-San did an incredible job none the less. I really respect him for it, and I eagerly await the continuation of this "series" ( 'Mello' hinted that there were three other stories that would be told. So I expect we'll be seeing more novels sometime in the future. =D )

Though, I'll point out that this book was a bit expensive. However, I for one believe that it's well worth the $17 dollars plus tax. I mean.... Money can't buy happiness, but it's still nice to have things.

Lei recommends it!

Oh no way! Lei14 shows her face here in the forum, no way! Lmao. ^__^

*points finger*

And anyways, like I have said, Lei14 is definitely right because I too wasn't too interested in L to begin with but then when I read the novel it tended to bring me closer to that character and I ended up actually liking him instead of not giving a crap. Overall if there is to be a sequel, possibly three novels, I cannot wait! Just as Lei14 says, the novel was great and I loved it as well, I couldn't agree with her anymore. =D

Oh yeah! Mello did say that he had other stories that he didn't feel like telling then. I don't know if it meant there would be more books, though. I didn't really get that sensation when I read it.

The book was pretty darn good, though. Very surprising ending in my opinion. I loved the introduction, too.

One of the only problems I had with it, though, was that I could tell while reading it that it was written by a different author. It just didn't have the same mood or writing style (although, of course, this was a novel and not a manga) as Death Note.

Ni-San!!!! =D

This is the cover for Ni-San's new novel~

I'm guessing it's based of the movie, but with minor changes.
They'll probably say that it's a case L took BEFORE the Kira case.

But I'm freaking stoked, none the less.

The lollipop looks godly. XD

quote Extra Info
"L change the WorLd," the movie spinoff of the "Death Note" franchise, is being released in novel form on December 25. The news was announced through the movie's website on Friday.

The movie, which opens on February 9, covers the final 23 days of L (played by Kenichi Matsuyama), which is not part of the original manga or films. To create the story, producers turned to a well-known author, who at the time had not yet read the original work.

The writer is not attaching his or her name to the novel; instead, it will be published under the name of "M." The name is said to be symbolic, referring to "where those who have used the Death Note go," which is "nothingness" ("mu").

The novel version reportedly includes many scenes that do not appear in the film.
Yay. X3

Note: but the writer might not be Ni-San? Great. Now I have to guess who he/she is.

I'll consider it to be a challenge. I'm pretty sure I know who Ohba really is. So this is just another guessing game.

I want a novel to come out about the Great Detective War. It'll be awesome to see L go toe to toe with other detectives. And I love the book. I don't own it but if I was gonna buy it, I'll go to Delaware. No sales tax I'll also have to read the book Lei14 "mentioned" *looks at pic* Could it be any bigger?

Lol or even centered? ^__^

*jp*

Thanks for posting this information Lei14, it's definitely enlightened me to another Death Note Novel. But my only questions, is it a sequel to the first Death Note Novel? If so then I can't wait to read it, it definitely will be great. And yes, with the author being M this definitely adds much mystery to the novel and Death Note series much like Obha has accomplished with his Manga. ^__^

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date though, Lei14, I can't wait to see more in the future.

Wow based on the artwork to the novel I can bet this will take place in many parts of the world, possibly all of it which can be noticed by the Egyptian ruins, the Tower in Paris, the Statue of Liberty found in New York and many other things that can be seen on the cover page.

If this is gonna be about the Great Detective War, I will definitly buy it the day it comes out. Otherwise, I'll let one of my friends buy the book and lend it to me.

Yes. But I didn't download the 1805x2560 version.

The back cover~ <3

Wow... This version is so sad. (Remember the significance of closed eyes. >_>)

quote The Rising Nebula
is it a sequel to the first Death Note Novel?
Using my reasoning skills, I've concluded the following:

Ni-san will still be writing sequels to the first Novel, going into detail of L's previous accomplishments.
HOWEVER-- The Mystery writer's novel will be an adaptation of the movie "L: Change the WorLd"

The recent novel, by M, will be based off of the movie plots-- Not the anime and manga. ;D

However, I still recommend it. I've heard that the movie was a different style compared to Death Note, but it was still rather enjoyable. XD I will be buying it no matter what, anyway.

Well, the title is "L: Change the worLd" XD

If I recall, the movie was about a virus that broke loose in Japan, and could have spread to the other countries.
L only has 23 days to solve the case (For obvious reasons) and prevent a biological holocaust from taking place.

If Ni-san continues writing novels, I have a feeling it WILL be about the war between L, Coil, and Danuve. XD

So Let's look forward to it~! >=3

re: Novel: Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases

Oh ok, thanks Lei14 for clearing me up on that one.

So basically, the book will be based off the movie but for the Death Note Novel there still is a possibility of being a sequel? If so then great! I plan to read both by the way, they look like great reads worth my time.

As for the movie, is this the same movie as the Death Note Movie that was made based on the series? Or am I confused and this is a different movie just about L and from that I should probably watch it to get a closer look on what the book may be about?

As for the author being M, this is a great touch to the book and make it seem many more times mysterious! ^__^
