Well with the sequel coming up I thought it might be fun to speculate on what new Chimera Insomnaic might introduce. From the screenshots we've seen the hybrids have been given a few tweaks and a cloaked stalker is confirmed but what other kinds of enemies and vehicles would you like to see?


And now with some actual gameplay released we can finally confirm a few new types of Chimera. Here are the Chimera we know are in the game so far

Levathain



This big beauty was seen at the end of the trailer and looks like Godzilla on steroids. It is unknown whether we will actually fight this thing but I'd say a boss fight wouldn't be out of the question.

Drone



Not particularly a surprise but here is a Chimera drone, small robotic and with the ability to float these enemies will likely serve the role of harassers. It is also suggested that there will be multiple types with different weapons.

Grims



Also known as the Parkour Chimera these bad guys are seen pouring quite literally out of the walls with swarms of them popping out of windows, alleys and garbage bins. They are described as only half developed Chimera and are relatively weak, running up to swipe you with their claws. But what they lack in firepower they make up for in numbers with dozens of these things forming a impressive attack wave.

Turrets



Another robotic foe, in the distance you can see what appears to be a automated Chimera turret. These things shoot a yellow beam of light at anything which moves and appear to not need any gunner at all.

Aqua Chimera



This one is an enigma at best, though not really visible in this screenshot a grief flash of something in the water definitely suggests a amphibious Chimera breed. More on this as it develops it

Hybrid



The backbone of the Chimera army the return of these guys was hardly unexpected. However the Hybrids may not be so easy to dispose of this time with increased agility and more armor.

Hmm, with the addition of the Cloaked Chimera, there isn't really much else that i can think of.

Maybe... I have no idea, every thought i have leads to a already created Chimera, 'Overgrown hybrid = Grey Jack, Stronger Hybrids = already done, Stronger Stalkers = Gloliath.

Maybe Titan's with armour and better weapons?

Do you have pictures of any ones you've seen that you think are new or is this all things you've just heard or hope for?

I think a cool boss fight would be a Chimera that went wrong or something, like some giant mutant Chimera with bits of other Chimera coming out of it, all hunched over and stuff. In my mind, i see it sort of resembling Nemesis from Resident Evil.
Also, a fight with one of those flying things that pick up the unconcious infected people would be cool.

That first idea sounds like a great fight, but as far as I can tell, the flying things wouldn't put up much of a fight. Maybe it would be some sort of protection mission like the end of CoD4 where you're in a truck shooting those things off as you take the unconscious humans to safety.

I like the new Chimera with their strong armour and stuff. Makes em look more scarier.

Hmm, the Carriers would be an interesting foe. Maybe your LAARK jams and you have to fight it off/kill it?

Are you talking about my first post? There are pictures in the information thread that show the new 'commando' Chimera. As for the invisible stalker it is indeed real though we haven't seen any screens yet. It's in the GameInformer article which had all that info on Resistance 2

Its not much difference. They just have more armour. You should find the pictures somewhere in Gamegrep.

Yeah I've seen the pictures but some people were posting and I was just wondering if they were saying that's what they have seen or would like to see.
