Is this game crap?

Hi,i was thinking about buying this game but a friend at school told me it is crap and that COD4 is better.So IS this game crap?Because i like the WWII environment more than the modern environment.Oh and i don't want to buy MW2 yet because at the moment it costs like 120$.

At EBgames it is 120$ new and 108$ preowned lol ripoff.So this game is good?Lol ok then.All 3 of the new call of duty games look good anyway.

Of course it's not crap. Its a matter of opinion. A lot of people prefer the Modern Warfare games to World At War. At the moment I'm really enjoying MW2 but I love WaW. It's a great game and the Nazi Zombies is far better than Spec Ops.

Only good thing most people have to say about this game is nazi zombies. The online multiplayer community is nonexistant by the way, last time I checked there were about 2000 people playing team deathmatch, compared to the 100,000+ on MW2. The other game modes failed to break a thousand for the most part.

I really wouldn't recommend this. If you want a shooter there are plenty of other good ones, most notably Battlefield Bad Company 2 coming out soon. You would probably be better off purchasing one of those. If you really must get a Call of Duty game and can't afford MW2 I would suggest 2 or 4.

Just in response to the above, the number online is typically around 25,000, though variable depending on time of day of course.
Team deathmatch is 6 vs 6, so I don't see the figure quoted of 2,000 being a problem, although you may from time to time see the same players.
I'm really enjoying the WW2 setting, although I didn't play earlier CODs and the last comparable game I played was MoH: Frontline in early PS2 days, so I'm not all WW2-ed out.
The BC demo was good though, think quite a few people who are MW-ed out will be getting it.

If I recall correctly the great majority of the people online last time I checked were playing the nazi zombies game mode. Also, I myself find it an issue because there is a great deal of difficulty getting into games with a good connection, in the few games I played with some friends of mine everyone but the host and sometimes his clan mates would have anywhere from a 1-2 bar latency which is quite infuriating when one is trying to snipe, for example, as the hit detection is already terrible and lag doesn't make it any better.

And I don't mind WW2 either, as I was never really into shooters until I picked up COD4. Though I will be grabbing BF:BC2 just because having an organized squad where everyone has a mic allows you to steamroll the other team almost singlehandedly, which is quite fun for myself as I always have a good deal of my real friends available to play with.
