Meh, I was pretty sure that the cliffhanger round was going to be one of my worst, since the story was all planned out since the start and I couldn't find an effective cliffhanger. Well, at least Denny didn't get a much higher score, which is good for me...
Btw, Shiny, will C&C on the previous round be given as well? Because you said so in the results but then you said that DDD2 and w111j had to do it and they didn't...

neffoneR: While you certainly did stick to the theme of a cliffhanger, I did not feel like it had as much of an impact. Your mini-series has been a lot of action and fancy effects and jumping around. It's hard for me to grow attached to any of your characters that much. It's not nearly as much of a shock, and it doesn't have the impact that I personally feel like a cliffhanger should have. In general, it also feels like you rely too heavily on your effects. Yes, they are nice and you're good at that. But a comic is more than JUST fancy effects. The plot needs intricacies and a delicate touch. You have provided spatters of both, but you need to apply a little more, and less action. Action where Action is due, and your delicate parts in their own fair amount of time.

Denny the Fisher: The theme of this round was to make an issue with a cliffhanger, so when we were judging the issues, we natually paid particular attention to the cliffhanger and its effect on us as readers. I felt that your cliffhanger was a bit underwhelming, which didn't do any favours for your rating. It wasn't the big cliffhanger we were hoping for, but at least we all understood it. You may not have the same stunning effects that neffoneR has, but you have better control of your plot and don't let your imagination run wild as much as he does. I feel like I have a good understanding of your characters, which must have been difficult for you to pull off in only nine issues. I enjoyed Hideyoshi's banter and really wanted to give you a higher rating. However, I still get the feeling that your entry, specifically the cliffhanger, is missing something. Though overall, I am enjoying your mini-series.




In general, we've enjoyed both of your series though they have both had their flaws. If I can give you each one piece of advice for the final round it would be this: Denny, you need to find that extra wow factor to make us think your issues are great, not just good. neffoneR, there wow factor is there but you need to pace yourself and not let your imagination run rampant all over the issue. Your biggest flaw is that you have what is known as a Steven Moffat complex.

Since this is the final round, I'm willing to extend the deadline if w111j and DDD2 are.

After these there's still about five more before the finale. This is mostly because of the fact that this whole flashback wasn't planned from the start so I ended up having to add 4 more issues to the count.
Guess w111j is right and this is starting to go beyond the "mini" in mini-series...
