It's true, I am the third judge of the 2nd Comic Olympics. If this were "America's Got Talent", I'd be Howie, Shiny would be Piers, and w111j would be Sharon.
It's too bad that we have to wait more than a week for this to start... Shh... Don't tell WJ or Denny, but Shiny and I are going to start it without them...
I glanced over the first post and am going to throw my two cents in here; I don't think having w111j, shiny and DDD2 as judges will pan out well. Three great comic makers as the judges themselves probably isn't for the better? I just thinking having them entering would be a better route to take, to throw in some competition and get some greater activity.
But I could be totally wrong. Happy to have seen this so I can read it over when it starts! :>
w111j and Shiny were the final two last year. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want them to win every year. Sorry. I'd rather see what everyone else has to offer. I'm really excited as a judge to see what everyone other than the "Big Three" can do. Everyone that joined has their own unique skills and talents, and it will be great to see how they use them in the different themes we have planned.
I wouldn't mind posting all the entries I get, but I do agree with w111j that just posting the winners' entries would add a sort of "winning" appeal to it. And you know what my friend Charlie says: "DUH, WINNING!"
Even though you all have an extension, the ideal situation would be if the three of us get all of the entries before Wednesday, so please, everyone, try to get it in ASAP.
I just kinda feel bad for DDD2. D: The only non-mod big three. D: It doesn't feel right.
Don't worry. :3 It's just because I'm the most friendly of the three and I use waaaaaaayyyyyy too many smilies in my posts. I'd never be able to rule you with an iron fist.
Division C Results: linkablo vs. WarMachineBO linkablo was the only one to send in an entry on time, so he is the winner. His entry was original, and pretty funny. The plot was clear, but I have to say that he should work on his grammar a bit more.
Spoiler:"Wailord Surfing" by linkablo
Zoroark vs. gothicunicorn Zoroark was the only one to send an entry in on time, so he is the winner. His grammar was almost perfect, the plot was very clear and original, and I actually wanted to see what happened next! The one thing I would add is a little humor, though. That would have made this issue close to perfect.
Spoiler:"Whaaaaaaat?!" by Zoroark
Division D Results:
euben0 vs. Pheonyx Pheonyx was the only one to send an entry in on time, so he is the winner. His issue was very, very funny. I had no idea what was going to happen next. The text was a little fuzzy-looking, so I would encourage you to try and fix that. Other than that, nice work.
Spoiler:"Ouch!" by Pheonyx
LeafeonPrincess vs. neffoneR Both people sent in entries! IT'S A MIRACLE, CHARLIE BROWN! But this means I'm going to feel bad having to eliminate someone. Anyway, both entries were very funny and extremely original. The effects you both put into your issues were awesome! There's nothing really to complain about grammar-wise.. These issues were so great, but in the end, I chose neffoneR to win. I'm sorry, LeafeonPrincess.
Spoiler:"Voltorbz" by neffoneR
The people who did NOT move on in the Comic Olympics, please pass on your part of the key to your opponent!
The next theme requires you to present a Fakemon in an issue. Fakemon are used in comics when you don't want to use regular, old, boring Pokemon. They can really show how creative a Comic maker is. We have assigned each division a different type.
Division C (Judged by DDD2), you will be making a Fire-type Fakemon. linkabloZoroark
Division D (Judged by DDD2), you will be making an Electric-type Fakemon. PheonyxneffoneR
Division E (Judged by Shiny), you will be making a Poison-type Fakemon. Fawfulzeezow
You will have to create a Fakemon, and then have yourself present it in comic form. You can use either PMD or HG/SS style for your Fakemon, but you must agree with your opponent which style you will use. You must use the same style as your opponent. We hope to see some very creative entries! The due-date will be Friday, August 5th, 12:00 PM EST.
