Team Erebus

Yeah, I'm doing that annoying thing where I read things really quickly. You should be proud though, you distracted me from some Dolce Piccante fanfiction.

Lovely start, Zach, leaves just enough mystery to get people reading more.

- CHAPTER TWO -

I lay down in my bed, my mobile phone on my chest as I waited for a call from that Ice guy I'd met at the pub earlier that day. My eyelids began to fold in on themselves as I slowly, but surely began to drift into sleep. Suddenly, I heard 3 booming knocks on my front door, I ran downstairs and answered to be met by a tall man with Baby Blue hair. Ice.

"Good Evening, Mr Faraday. You'll need to get dressed as you're coming with me this evening." Ice said with a sharp, yet soothing voice.

"Aye, I will. But first, would you like to come in and have a Coffee? You look knackered and I need to rejuvenate the systems abit." I asked, stepping back from the door to invite him in. He titled his head and then smiled before stepping into my house.

"Milky, 3 sugars, please." I closed the door and began to run around the kitchen, making us each a hot drink.

"Here you go." I said as I placed his cup infront of him. "I'm just gonna get dressed." I ran up the stairs, threw on my Purple hoody and black shirt, black jeans and purple Skater Shoes before charging back down the stairs.

"I must say, Alex." Ice placed his Coffee down on the coaster. "That's possibly the best I have ever tasted." I smiled, sat down on the bar stool-like seat and began to drink my Coffee.

"So Ice, if you don't mind me asking. Where're you from?" I enquired. He looked at me weirdly. I should have never asked.

"The Almia Region, I was part of an Evil team there too. Team Dim Sun, they were called."

"Oh yeah? And how did that work out?"

"The boss was crazy, he wanted a world full of Darkness. But then this Rookie Pokémon Ranger interfered and took us down. He was a talented boy, that kid. Real Talented."

"So what happened after he took you guys down?"

"Me and 2 Colleagues escaped before the police got there. Cowardly thing to do, but we realised we were just pawns in the boss' chess game" Ice said with a frown. We finished our Coffees and then left the house.

"So where exactly are you taking me?" I was worried, real worried.

"Head quarters"

"And that is..?"

"There" He said, pointing up at the building looming up above us. "Boss wants to see your battling techniques. He was impressed by your files." I nodded and just kept quiet. All the way up to the 'Battle Deck', I didn't say a word, I was too scared to. We arrived, I stepped out the lift to be greeted by a huge, empty cavern like building with just a few lines painted on the floor. With two people standing on the other side of the room

"Good evening Ice, Good Evening Mr. Faraday" Said an old, aging man with a diminished figure as he strode towards us "Or can I call you Alex?" The man said, holding his hand out to greet me.

"Yes sir" I gulped. I was petrified. The Man smiled and shook my hand.

"My name's Nero, I'm the boss here at Team Erebus. And this" He said, gesturing to the man dressed in Black on the other side of the room "is Agent Vulcan. He's the most gifted grunt on my team of Protectors. I'd like you to Battle." Nero turned on the ball of his heel to face Ice "Ice, follow me so we can get a better view" Him and Ice ventured to the sidelines of the Battle Arena and I took up a battle stance.

"Onix, go!" Bellowed Agent Vulcan, he sure wasn't messing around.

"Blade, I choose you!" I threw my Pokéball in the air before me and Sneasel materialised in a crimson red light. He growled at the Onix looming over him. "Ice Shard!" I commanded. Sneasel jumped in the air and started to do a flip, throwing shards of Ice out of nothing at the Onix, who wasn't taking the damage lightly.

"Onix, use Rock Slide!" Vulcan's Onix shook of the ice shards and conjured big heavy Rocks above Blade's head.

"Blade, Protect" Blade closed it's eyes, and as the rocks above him dropped, he timed it perfectly. The rocks hit a force field that had formed around the Sneasel and they all ricocheted back to Onix, every single rock hitting it hard all over it's rocky serpentine body. Onix growled in pain before hitting the floor with an almighty crash. It had fainted. There was a slow clap coming from the sidelines.

"Excellent, truly remarkable" Nero shouted. "But it isn't over yet."

"Return, Onix. Ninetails! Don't let me down!" I smiled as he sent out the Ancient fox pokémon, I actual felt winning this wouldn't be too hard.

"Blade, Take a rest" Blade tottered to side of me. "Kratos, It's your turn." Kratos appeared out of nothingness, the beautiful sheen of his snowy white coat made Ninetails look like a Feebas. "Kratos, Water Pulse" I was serious this round, no messing around. Kratos Waved it's tail visciously in Ninetails' direction and he began to pulse off Water. Ninetails became confused, now was my chance. As Vulcan's poor, defenseless pokémon spun around drunkenly in the middle of the arena, I took my chance "Iron Tail, now!"

"AAAAAB-SOOOOLL!" Kratos jumped in the, tail glowing platinum, it smashed down hard on Ninetails' Cranium.

"Now, Night Slash!" The scythe on top of Kratos' head went blacker, and then made three fluid slashing motions out of the darkness, Ninetails yelped and then was flung back towards her trainer.

"Ninetails!" Cried Vulcan. All that went through my head was 'Oh yes, good first impression on the boss"

"I think that's all I need, fellas. Agent Vulcan, you may return to your dormitory. Alex, You can return to your home. Ice, do me a favour and escort our newest recruit back to his house" Nero ordered, then leaving Ice standing there, awkwardly.

"Well then." He said "Better get you home."

Admittedly, the long title threw me... but this is a great looking story! I'm intrigued to see where this goes next, the writing is really great stuff and the plot is very unique and interesting. Keep up the great writing, or I may have to hunt you down and force you to write more!

But word didn't correct it for me. D=

- CHAPTER FIVE -

I swung open the door and was greeted by the smiling faces of Ice and Larvana; I sat them down at the table after taking their coats; pouring us each a glass of wine and setting the dinner out. We sat quietly while eating, with the occasional slurp from one of us as we sipped the wine or sucked the spaghetti into our mouths. We all finished eating and settled down in front of the fire and began to chat. The chat was mainly social; we discussed Ice and Larvana’s wedding next year, our families and training techniques for Pokémon. “You scared about the mission tomorrow?” Ice asked.

“No, not really. Not a lot could go wrong to be honest.” I replied with a smile, eyes not leaving the TV screen. “Unless of course there’s something in the water in Mt. Coronet making all the Pokémon ridiculously evil” I joked around, it was the only thing I could do to take Anabel’s face when I left her out of my mind. We were all just mindlessly staring at the TV set, watching repeats of Friends shown on E4. Suddenly our concentration was broken by the ringing of Ice’s telephone. He picked the phone of the table and curiously looked at the screen.

“It’s Nero, I better take this” Ice stood up and walked out the room and spoke in a hushed tone.

“So Larvana, what’re your feelings for the mission tomorrow?” I enquired of the girl with bright pink hair sitting on my sofa.

“I’m not really worried about it, if something goes wrong, something goes wrong, but I’m trusting my team to complete their objective with no fuss” She replied happily.

“What type does your team specialise in?”

“Fire” She replied with a certain tone of pleasure in her voice. The mood changed relatively quickly when Ice walked into the room, his face as white as a sheet. “What did Nero want, baby?”

“Erebus headquarters has been infiltrated by a team called ‘Team Helios’, they think they’re being quiet in doing it, but Nero has just overheard the Mole in the labs, he needs us there now.”

“Well it’s a bloody good job I only live over the road from the HQ.” I jumped up from my seat and switched off the telly, I collected my jacket off of the coat rack and exited the door with Ice and Larvana, we ran to the HQ and casually walked in the doors, we strode to the lifts and stepped in; “Agents Faraday, Frost and Aduro”

“Voice recognition confirmed as Agent Alexander Faraday, Welcome to Team Erebus Headquarters, to which floor may I take you?” The emotionless voice on the elevator spoke from the speakers that lined the metal canister.

“Floor 15” The lift jolted upwards and began to ascend to the top floor of the colossal structure previously inhabited by the failures Team Galaxy. The lift halted.

“Floor 15; Nero’s Office and Headquarters” The cold, emotionless voice spoke again, before the heavy metal doors prised open down the centre, allowing us to leave. We all walked into Nero’s office, Red was sitting in at a small desk by the door, and our leader sat in a tall, looming leather chair at a long, curved, black metal desk. His back was to his us as he stared out the window over the city.

“Good Evening, I apologise for calling you in so late, but the notion was necessary.” Nero said with a cool, monotonous voice. “The Mole goes by the name of Devon Charter; he has given us a lot of information on Team Helios.”

“What information is there?” Ice questioned as Nero turned round and gestured to three seats on the opposite side of his desk to him. We all sat down and prepared to listen.

“Team Helios is a team built hell-bent on destroying us, they have 3 leaders. Anabel Greenwater, Sisyphus Diabolous and Samantha Odio. Tomorrow, you three will infiltrate their Headwuarters in Eterna, and kill them. You are assigned one each. Alex, you must kill Anabel. Ice, you have Sisyphus and Larvana, You have Samantha.” Nero paused for a second to take a breath, he then carried on “You must formulate a disguise for yourself, you can go to whatever extreme you wish with disguises; you must have reported back their deaths by midnight tomorrow. I’ll leave you to just imagine what your fate will be if you don’t. You may now leave.” Nero smiled cynically and watched as we all began to walk out the door. “Alex, could you come back for a second please.” I turned around and walked back towards the desk; I sat opposite him again and prepared myself for what else he had to say. “I understand it may come as a shock to you that you have to kill your girlfriend; but doing so will reward you handsomely.”

“What’s that supposed to mean, sir?”

“The deal is simple. Kill her, you become second in command, at a higher position than Ice, you basically have all the powers I have, however you cannot fire me. You will also be given the rarest Pokémon that is known to mankind.”

“And if I don’t?”

“You are thrown from this window” He said gesturing to the window behind him “To fall towards your certain death.” There was silence in the room. “Do I make myself clear?” Nero spoke to me like I was a child. I stood up and rested my hands on the table.

“Crystal.” I gave a sinister grin that sent shivers down Nero’s spine. I walked out of the room and returned to my home.

I like it so far! I like how you use Greek words for things, like how Erebus means Dark and ect.

I also like how you're putting real delinquency into it, and how each character is already developing nicely.

One thing I DON'T like, though, is Red being evil. How could you.

Is Anabel the same as Salon Maiden Anabel from the Battle Frontier?
