If you hate button mashers then why not 'campers'(again I mean classing camper as the genre, not the actual act of camping)? What just because one is more succesfull than the other, makes it ok or at least more acceptable just because it's not as good? If I kill people by shooting them in the head while another person kills people by bashing their faces in with their fists, are you gonna only hate me because a bullet to the brain is far more effective than punching someone to death? Or at least think well at least *insert hand to hand mudrerer* isn't as bad as that prick Gamesta who puts bullets in people's heads?

That is one of the biggest complaints about FPS online play. If you don't believe it, go to the MW2 Forum and you will see a ton of posts and threads ranting about camping.

Maybe I didn't explain it properly.So people call certain games button mashers and dislke them because they are button mashers.So lets say that the genre is being classed as a button masher.Well you can camp in FPS's which is cheap and pathetic.Now people don't hate FPS's and choose not to play every one of them because of campers meaning they don't class an FPS as campers, campers being like a replacement genre.


I know full well that people people who play FPS's HATE campers.


Every game genre has it's own form of low pathetic players.

I already said I don't button mash.Now I'm pretty damn shit at fighting games but I still REFUSE to button mash.I would rather try to win with skill and get smashed than to button mash and win.


When I do play FPS's online (which is rare these days), sometimes I get pissed off and tell myself that if others can play cheap and camp, only use rocket launchers and kick my arse, I may as well just stoop to their level and do the same thing.But in the end I CAN'T play like that so I either get better and learn to combat these cheap pathetic players without being cheap myself, OR I just continue to TRY and win with skill and get my arse kicked.

I would rather be an 'honourable' loser than a weak pathetic winner.

Haz my video isn't the same. What I meant by button smashing was using the standard attack square square square and it was on the easy difficulty. Then I couldn't give a shit about variety of combo button attacks.

Button mashing is literally smashing the keyboards/controller buttons without any clue what you're doing. Which barely no game or player does usually.

I never button bash in fighting games. Never have, never will. No matter how effective it is. I much rather do the moves that I want to do (yes that means learning the commands). I hate seeing my brother using Christie or Eddy and then seeing him place his two fingers across all 4 face buttons and randomly pressing buttons as fast as he can. It REALLY annoys me tbh. I use my thumb and ONLY my thumb. That's how fighters should be played.

Several Street Fighter players use the original arcade sticks for playing SF, instead of the PS3/360 controllers. You pretty much need your middle three fingers to operate those things.

@Gamesta, I have absolutely no idea what you were getting so snippy about in you point-by-point post above. No, I did NOT read your post, actually (the one you asked me "if I even read" because I was not even speaking to you. I was speaking to Haz.

Oh, and guys, my understanding of the term button-mashing, is NOT hitting the same button over and over again. To my knowledge, when they refer to button mashing (often in fighting games) they are talking about hitting random sequences of attack/block/combo buttons in the hopes that you will execute combos you don't actually know.

A lot of people used to do this in Spider-Man games, because the combos were sometimes more than people wanted to memorize. So whenever in a combat situation, they would just hit random, lightning-fast, constant combinations of buttons, hence the term button mashing. Again, at least that is the way I understand the term.

You know what annoys me more than button mashing in fighting games? People that do the same move over and over again.
