Colin McCrae Dirt 2 is out soonish too. If it improves on the first game then it'll be quality.

I agree. Whats the appeal of constantly tapping 'X' and occasionally tapping 'O' to kill endless hordes of almost identical enemies? I just don't get it......I like to use my brain when i'm playing something and not just mindlessly hammering the buttons. Each to their own I guess, but theres nothing interesting, to me at least, about button mashing.

When did I say X-Men Origins: Wolverine WASN'T a button Smasher?
No, all I said it gives the wolverine fans the Wolverine experience WE'VE been looking for for a long ass time.

I never disagreed with DMC and God of War being button Smasher(to a degree more the former than the latter).

Batman: Arkhams Asylum, however, is the only game I touched that ISN'T a button smasher as anyone who's been following the games would tell you you'll get killed extremely quick doing that instead of Stealth. Alot of people even says this game rivals MGS4 in stealth and to be honest, this is EXACTLY what batman fans have been waiting for.

But go ahead, go rent the full game and try button smashing and come back tell me how you survived 4 guys shooting tons of lead into you and you kicked their arse. Cause it seems to me, I'm wrong and you're right Bergin. It's true. I've been following the news and interviews for the past year and I must be *bleep*ing out of my mind to assume that my knowledge of the game isn't true and I'm talking out of my ass.</sub>

Pressing X and occasionally O? Maybe if you play Dynasty Warriors and/or you just choose to be boring and do the same combo over and over again.

Well not all of us like to sit there and use our brain all the time while playing a game.


Apart from the fact that you don't button mash, you could say the same thing about racing games, platformers, FPS's, basically any type of game.

Racing games you just sit there racing the same lap 5 times.FPS's, run shoot, hide, rinse and repeat.I could go on for ages.

Even games like Tekken or Sould Calibur, you can choose to just button mash and still kick arse.But the good people choose not to.

The major fun for me was slicing people in half, slicing llimbs off, impaling people on spikes.Not to mention the real time healing and actually seeing slices in opponents.


You know the funny thing? If it wasn't for God of War, I wouldn't play these games either.The awesome things about GOW was the ancinet Greece setting, the story, the brilliant set pieces with the amazing artistc graphics(fighting the Hyrda on a ship during a major storm was amazing) and the brilliant music.


I played DMC and have never played one since.

But that's not been the case in my experience. Every time I've played these games I've found them indescribably easy.

How long do you play these games and what difficulty have you played them on?

I tried GOW 2 on hard and I couldn't even beat the first boss.Of course I'm not that great though


Don't think I'm trying to convince anyone to try these games, just saying that there's more to these games than button mashing for the people who do enjoy these games.

Yeah I agree too. Sometimes it's nice to just play a game whereby thinking is optional. Don't get me wrong I'm more of a thinking man but occasionally it's good to just kill 20 enemies as they gang up on you.
I loved GOW because of it's greek mythology story line and even though it is a button basher the combat suits the setting. He's a god. Slashing through hordes of enemies makes you feel like a god.
