Weapon Stats

Hey guys,

Are individual weapon statistics in relation to guns of the same type or to all guns? For example, if a submachinegun has a damage rating of 4... Is it 4 as compared to the other submachineguns or is it 4 as compared to, say, an assault rifle?

I am asking this because the assault rifles in this game seem to have more penetration than the do lightmachineguns. In real life, and in COD4 (don't flame me), LMGs have more penetration than do assault rifles. And if the stats are universally relevant, don't you think SMGs are really weak? I mean look at their stats as compared to an assault rifle. IMO ARs are just as useful in CQB and are way more powerful.

This leads me to believe that the stats are just for each individual weapon class.

Another question... I put heavy armor on my character and he seemed to be just as mobile as my character with very little armor. Am I missing something?

I know this may be really hard to understand and that most people will have no idea what I am talking about, but can someone please clear this up? Thanks in advance.

re: Weapon Stats

I don't know... Well i think that they in relation to their own type of gun because if you look at a sniper rifle it usually has full damage where as a close to full damage gun (552 commando i think) takes seconds to kill someone and a sniper rifle takes one shot. But dont think iam correct thats what i think.

re: Weapon Stats

i agree with colin, basically for the same reason, like the FAMAS takes like 3 hits to kill a heavy armor but its half of the power of the sniper rifle, if the stats were universally relavant, and the famas still seems to almost perfectly accurate in short bursts, so it should have the same accuracy rating as a sniper, but i couldnt really say for shure.

In the ways of armor, i think when it says mobility it means how fast you move, but i couldnt say for shure, becauze thats how it is with guns, LMGs u move like a frikkin snail, pistols u zoom right along, i would assume its similar with armor, i would reccomend doing some testing in this, like time urself in a distance run with no armor, and with maxed out armor, with the same pistol equipped, and see if thers a difference
