How Easy is Easy |
|
Hey Gamers, I have same basic questions for you. The first time I attempted to play this game I played in Normal Mode. Of course I was in kill everything mode and finally realized, when I got to the Church, I probably didn't have enough ammo, Health drinks etc. to complete the game. I decided to start again in Easy Mode. I just started playing and I'm still in the Shopping Mall. I noticed some differences though, of course, the Book store puzzle was easy. I also noticed that there is no bleach in the Restroom, does that mean that you don't have to solve the Black Moth puzzle? Also, on the third floor there is a Double-Head not a Closer roaming around. I take it easy mode is really easy?
No Problem, I didn't have to solve that puzzle. The first boss was easy too. I guess I answered by own question hehehe! This message was edited by KM on Oct 28 2008.

Yes, you just answered to your own question.
Also, there is a "Beginner" Mode too, that's only if you get killed in the Easy Mode. So, basically, there are four Modes, Beginner (will be unlocked when you get killed by a monster in the Easy Mode), Easy Mode, Normal Mode and Hard Mode. But, there are even more Hard modes once you finished beating the Hard Mode, your reward will be a Hard Mode II...I don't remember the total of the Hard Mode is though, I'm sure, the other gamers will answer it. :3 And yes, the Modes can also influence the puzzles as well. ------------------- Thank you for the good times

After Hard Mode, if I can remember well, there is something called Extreme difficulty, then Extreme II, and so until you get to Extreme X; if I'm not wrong after beating hard mode once, if you select Hard mode again the game will prompt that Extreme difficulty has been unlocked; after beating Extreme, the difficulty will keep rising until Extreme X

That's right, there are 10 levels of Extreme mode. But if you were having trouble with Normal, chances are you'll never get to them.
And yes, easy mode is really easy. There's health and ammo all over the place, so you'd have to really suck if you die at that level.

No I haven't gotten killed yet in Easy Mode, and hopefully won't. Eventhough the monster aren't tough, I'm still practicing fleeing more than fighting to conserve ammo, Health Drinks etc. Normal mode was definately tougher but, like I said, I was in kill everthing mode. I did make it to the Church though. I take it you really have to flee in the harder modes. It would be interesting to see some boss battles in one of the Extreme modes.

Yeah, once you have finish the game on Easy mode, then you should have some rewards for it.
But! Be careful with the holes, tho, in Extreme Modes, you can easily fall into one of them if you don't watch out when you run! ------------------- Thank you for the good times

A good strategy not only in the Silent Hill games, but in survival horror games in general, is to practice running away and conserving your ammo. Don't fight unless you need to. You should have a much easier time once you get good at doing that.

Oh, yeah. Easy is way easy, just like you said when you answered yourself. LOL. Even as easy as it is, this is still one of my favorite games.
Most of the puzzles are either changed or gone, so the wierd bugs aren't in the hall for easy. Just to get the hang of the game, always start on easy, so that, if there are extras (hinthint), it's a sort of upper hand if it gets a bit too hard.

Hey, welcome to the forum even though it's dead.
At least, it's nice to know that someone's still posting here. ------------------- Thank you for the good times

Monsters only need so many hits to kill. Heather can't fall into bottomless pits. Riddles are easier.
And if you die in easy mode, you unlock beginner mode. ------------------- Platinum Kitty 0131 0932 2917

Playing Silent Hill 3 at any setting lower than "normal" should be against the law.
"Normal" itself is already painfully easy, last time I played on that setting there was this nurse I shot that just stood there, going:"- Meh, flesh wound. C´mon, big boy, you can do better than that. Here, aim for my center of gravity. I won´t budge. Honest!"

I like the concept and the idea of this game, but sadly have not played it much as I got pushed onto the railway tracks by a ghost and got ran over by a train. =[
I haven't played it since. -------------------

That is bound to upset any player.
One day I´ll tell all about the horrific amounts of time I wasted levelling up a certain flower girl from a well known Square RPG.
