You've summed up the game very well and discussed most matters - all that seem important anyway. The game's so short and simple that there isn't a lot to write about. But it's good that you've missed no key elements. I like your use of language and it's evident that you've used a sort of third-person view on the whole piece. I was just wondering if that's your style of the review, or was it an accidental thing? I find that it's written really well but you don't really add much personal detail towards it. If there was no rating system, I wouldn't be too sure what your overall opinion of the game was because it's written in a way that relates to the reader, but not so much yourself.

I really really love how the last paragraph takes off and it's very professional how you bring about saying that it's an experience, rather than a game - while comparing it to a couple of other games. The only thing that lets the last paragraph down is that it's a little lacking - it's really short. If you can somehow extend on the very last bit and add something memorable to finish with (I know I always try to finish on a high), the review would be superb. I just feel "However, this does not save it from some control and length issues." is a bit of a negative ending to a game (or should I say experience!) you enjoyed.

But besides that, really good read overall. Well structured and nice use of language (ominous was a great word to describe the wind). Keep it up!

The White Chamber:

I think you could've worded this a bit better. But that's the only thing I had to say that was wrong with the review, because it was actually very well written. Shame you didn't win the contest.

Also, I find this odd:

For one thing, you say that, only to say that the story and combat are flawed. Some consistency would be nice.

Another, much bigger thing, is that you don't actually discuss the bugs. You say that they're distracting, but then I read on, never to know why they are or what they even are! Perhaps you started this back during its release and finished it just recently without double checking everything - which is another thing. DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING! Go through it, and see if it's got good structuring, good spelling, and above all else, CONSISTENCY!

Right, so after a month and a half of slacking off playing and trying to get some inspiration to write, I finally finished my Tales Of Graces F review. It's in the CRS at the moment, so if any of the user review people (especially Vermillion :3) want to give it a look, gogogo!

if I can come up with a flaw for your reviews, it'd be that I sometimes don't quite understand what you're getting at. the biggest, most recent offender is your Pokemon Conquest review, which would have me suggest that it's a fun and yet really simple strategy RPG. that's neat, but you actually criticize it for being really simple. it'd be a relatively harmless complaint, except I can tell that you're a Fire Emblem fan, and being one myself, I know for a fact that Fire Emblem is almost as simple. there's a similar rock-paper-scissors style of battle and the enemies aren't the brightest in the world. I can understand your disappointment with the other mechanics because I can tell that they could've been really cool and made the game heaps better if their full potential had been realized. that, and yeah, given the setting, I'd expect a better story. but at the same time, it's just complaining about the simplicity while admitting to being a Fire Emblem fan (it's implied if you guys couldn't tell) confuses me a bit and actually kind of hurts the review for me.

it's a shame because you are most certainly getting better with review writing.
