Log in to remove this advertisement PC Reviews![]() Genre: Shooter So what that means is that Altitude is fun distraction you can play for a few short bursts between other games. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel However, for those still interested, here awaits a story so compelling that you'll love every minute of it. ![]() Genre: Platform And Yet It Moves is the kind of game you'll go for when looking for a unique fresh experience. ![]() Genre: Puzzle Anyone else will probably derive some entertainment from it for a while but may find it too repetitive to play for too long. ![]() Genre: Action As it stands though it's still a rather good hack and slash platformer with plenty of charm. ![]() Genre: Adventure It's a fantastic game that showcases some excellent ideas and a solid challenge without being too inaccessible. ![]() Genre: RPG What it does deliver is a very solid and very fun action RPG that suffers from a few mechanics flaws in places but shines with an interesting combat system. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel It has a few foundation blocks but there's just so much wrong with it that I could not extract much enjoyment here. ![]() Genre: Fighting This game is fast, fluid and floaty, which gives the game all the freedom it needs to provide fun and frantic battles. Genre: Cards Faerie Solitaire is something that is fun at first and shows some interesting ideas but lacks the appeal to drag you back for more. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel Fate/Stay Night is an excellent visual novel with a compelling trio of story paths, a wonderful art style and a music collection that is impressive. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel The story is light hearted and interesting, which is further boosted by a wonderful colourful cast of characters. ![]() Genre: Shooter For the most part, GundeadliGne follows closely the formula set by the original game, but with a few key tweaks the game manages to show a little more spark and ends up a bit more accessible. ![]() Genre: Shooter It's a fun game that throws up some interesting scenarios and a wonderful setting. It's just so terribly brutal. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter Half-Life 2 has extreme amounts of praise for very good reasons. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter Episode 1 manages to retain the good stuff of the original and improves in some other areas. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter There isn't anything truly groundbreaking in here, but anyone who enjoyed the original game will love Episode 2 just as much. ![]() Genre: Fighting The fighting engine is certainly well designed and if you're looking for a new fighting game then this would certainly prove to be a worthy addition. ![]() Genre: Point & Click For every cleverly thought out puzzle that is a joy to solve there are at least two more that defy logic where the only emotion elicited is the relief that the player has seen the back of it. ![]() Genre: RPG Granted I was never expecting the next Final Fantasy coming into this game, but even with such expectations Raidy has problems. ![]() Genre: RPG If you're looking for a good game with adult content then this is a nice option to go for. ![]() Genre: Platform The presentation is nice and it had a good idea. Just really shitty execution that makes me want to ragequit. ![]() Genre: Fighting It provides an alternative style of fighting that might not be as competitive-focused as traditional side-on fighters but offers up a load of fun with four way fights and various game modes. ![]() Genre: Puzzle I enjoyed figuring out how the rules of each given area worked and even more when I managed to get past a particularly challenging task. ![]() Genre: Platform With some inspired level designs and a visual design that is very appealing the result is a great game. Just keep the short lifespan in mind and you're good to go. ![]() Genre: RTS Plants vs Zombies is one of those highly addicting games that looks simple but is so addicting and has a lot of depth to proceedings. ![]() Genre: Puzzle This isn’t your usual FPS but rather a very clever puzzle game whose only real drawback is that there isn’t enough of it. ![]() Genre: Puzzle Portal 2 takes everything that made the original so brilliant and runs with it, crafting an experience that will remain in memory long after you've finished with it. ![]() Genre: Puzzle Puzzle Quest delivers an interesting experience by mixing excellent elements from both the match 3 and RPG genres to create a rather unique experience. ![]() Genre: RPG Recettear is a wonderful shop management slash dungeon crawler game that brings about a rare experience that I think anyone would just love. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel Shuffle has some technical issues, one bad route and one meh route. What's left is still three good routes and high production values. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel It started off well enough, but the flaws of Snow Drop are really quite massive and work to destroy the quality of the novel. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel Yes, Snow Sakura was compelling enough to encourage me to see the whole thing through to completion. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel The decision making was a step up, the story was great even if pieces had to be a little rushed and I appreciated the change of setting. ![]() Genre: Action Spiral Knights has successfully eaten up so much of my time that I cannot give the game anything but a high score. Genre: Action It offers bursts of fun here and there and it comes at a low price, but it can just be too frustrating for its own good when progress comes down to luck of the draw. ![]() Genre: Adventure I do want to say that the experience offered by The Path is unlike anything else, but the gameplay flaws aren't easily ignored. ![]() Genre: Adventure Unfortunately, it just wasn't enjoyable. Instead I ended up bored and frustrated by the game's shortcomings, to the point that I eventually had to abandon it. ![]() Genre: Point & Click Adventure As it is though, I would mark this as an excellent game with production values so high it happily gives commercial games a run for their money. ![]() Genre: Puzzle Toki Tori isn’t a particularly long game but it is challenging and for the price it could certainly prove to be a good time waster. ![]() Genre: RPG Ys Origin may lack some of the more traditional RPG elements such as towns, but it's such an action packed exciting ride from start to finish that it doesn't matter. ![]() Genre: Visual Novel The beginning of the novel is a little iffy but with a bit of time the stories here develop into truely engaging tales. Movie/DVD Reviews![]() Genre: Comedy Overall this is an excellent set that's easily accessible, fun to watch and even lets you expand your knowledge into something you might not have even considered before. ![]() Genre: Comedy/Drama While the serious complications of technological integration into society is there, don't expect the series to approach the subject as seriously as something like Ghost in the Shell. ![]() Genre: Mature Drama It's definitely one that'll leave an impact on the viewer, for the better, providing you're able to handle the nudity and bloodshed. ![]() Genre: Fantasy Some parts come across as boring and the film could use with less crybabies in the lead bad guy roles but overall comes across as fast-paced action that will hook you and keep you entertained. ![]() Genre: Action Full Metal Panic: Mission 01 is a good start to the series but it's clear that some parts are a little lacking. ![]() Genre: Action For a film that provokes meaningful thought and interjects some solid action in there it does a fantastic job, topped off with a marvellous visual style. ![]() Genre: Action Ghost in the Shell has such a fantastic setting and Stand Alone Complex may just provide the stage it needs to full demonstrate the potential it has. ![]() Genre: Romance/Drama Kanon comes recommended for people seeking cutesy high school romance with a dash of mystery. ![]() Genre: Horror A pretty strong anime that creates the ideal unsettling atmosphere and a pair of characters who give viewers more than enough reason to care about what is happening with them. ![]() Genre: Romance/Comedy It's certainly got a high tempo way of driving the show forward, but that only works to enhance the appeal. ![]() Genre: Drama/Comedy Moon Phase establishes itself in the crowd with superb execution that merges seemingly dark undertones  :with a light hearted appeal and elements of humour that make for excellent viewing entertainment. ![]() Genre: Drama/Comedy At the end of it all I do like Negima, but sometimes it just seems to take some really odd decisions with its direction ![]() Genre: Drama The characters possess significant depth and the emotionally charged conflicts make for an engaging series. ![]() Genre: Fantasy There is simply so much going in its favour with such charm and moving moments that it cannot be anything other than amazing. ![]() Genre: Comedy The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of those series that I cannot recommend enough. ![]() Genre: Action Well, what more can I say? Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Volume 1 kicks off the series in style and leaves the viewer wanting more. ![]() Genre: Fantasy When it comes to magical classic fantasy this is a great choice to invest in. Book Reviews![]() Genre: Fantasy Shakugan no Shana: The Girl with Fire In Her Eyes is a magnificent book that entertains with its darker than expected story without overwhelming the reader. Nintendo 3DS Reviews![]() Genre: Platform So I do like Super Mario 3D Land - enough to complete it in its entirety. It's a great game but I do feel that it lives in the shadow of earlier entries in the series. Nintendo DS Reviews![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy The result is a strategy game that's accessible and yet very challenging. ![]() Genre: Strategy While I might lament the loss of certain aspects, other improvements have overtaken them and produced a more balanced strategy title. ![]() Genre: Platformer If you're looking for a more challenging experience with an interesting combat setup and a rather gothic atmosphere then this game is for you. ![]() Genre: Arcade Shooter There are many DS titles that would actually be worth your money - Chicken Shoot is not one of them. ![]() Genre: Party If you want to try some card games inbetween saving princesses then this game is definitely a worthwhile choice for your collection. ![]() Genre: Strategy The campaign mode itself is quite large, and then throw in the bonus Etna mode and the multiplayer battle system and you have a worthy game in your hands. ![]() Genre: Minigames Should you get Project Rub? Maybe if you rent it or see it really cheap, which is possible this long after the initial release. ![]() Genre: RPG I found myself completely drawn in by the interesting combat system that was complimented by locations that were fun to explore and numerous ideas that work quite well. ![]() Genre: RPG I don't know how it stacks up against its previous incarnations, but judging it as a DS game it is definitely a worthwhile adventure for any fan of the genre. ![]() Genre: RPG Keeping things streamlined for a handheld game is one thing, but when you start taking out things that seem awfully vital then you're kinda going in the wrong direction. ![]() Genre: Arcade This game is for people after a tough challenge so the casual crowd should look elsewhere, but if you're itching for a hardcore arcade shooter then really you need to have this game. ![]() Genre: RPG Minor issues aside, there is absolutely no doubt that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn has proved itself to be a purchase worth every penny of the asking price. ![]() Genre: Fighting Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers is a somewhat fun button-mashing brawl that just lacks the depth and refinement for a long lasting experience. ![]() Genre: Simulation Atrocious controls just ruins everything the game has to offer. I really wanted to like Island of Happiness but there's simply nothing to justify picking it up. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy Battles become intense with a lot of tactical thought entering the further you progress, and the level of presentation is excellent. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy What we have is an improved product that you should find fun if you liked the first game but something that isn't going to wow you with new experiences. ![]() Genre: Racing It manages to pull off the 'just one more go' feel perfectly and is the ideal time waster. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter Yes, the multiplayer is good, but that doesn't make up for a terrible single player experience and it's not enough to recommend the title. ![]() Genre: Platformer On its own merits it's a fun game with open levels, some interesting ideas, a good replay factor, totally accessible and a number of extra touches you'd expect from a Nintendo title. ![]() Genre: Handheld Console Overall if you’re looking for a handheld to kill time with and enjoy some clearly epic titles then the DS is a great option to go for. ![]() Genre: RPG Pokemon Diamond does still carry some of the irritating flaws of the older games, but there is definitely enough freshness in the game to renew my interest in the series. ![]() Genre: RPG However, it is a nostalgia trip done well by really bringing the Joho/Kanto regions into the fourth generation. ![]() Genre: RPG It's an interesting spinoff in that it still maintains the essence of the core games to a degree while still going down its own unique route. ![]() Genre: RPG Detractors of the series won’t be convinced, but by building upon the groundwork laid before it the game provides an experience no pokemon fan should miss out on. ![]() Genre: RPG There is going to be a bit of deja vu if you've already played Black/White, but for once I think enough content is new and fresh that it is a worthwhile purchase even if you already have the previous games. ![]() Genre: Puzzle The visual limitations are quite unfortunate and the randomness enforced by the match 3 genre isn't ideal, but the execution of the hybrid style works to deliver a game experience few can claim. ![]() Genre: RPG The game definitely has some of the right ideas but it needs to change its approach to dungeon design and tweak the difficulty and length. ![]() Genre: RPG/Simulation Ultimately Rune Factory 2 is a good game, but its gameplay is dragged on for so long that it can become boring before the player has even reached the second generation. ![]() Genre: Puzzle There are significant flaws to work around but there's nothing quite like this and it manages to do just enough to justify playing it. ![]() Genre: Platformer I think Sonic Rush is a good game let down by the developer's intent of autokilling anyone who doesn't instictively know the layout of the levels. ![]() Genre: Space Shooter It does have a few issues that interfere with things but otherwise it's well worth the time, especially for fans of the series. ![]() Genre: Platformer It's not as ground breaking as the original was when it launched, but it is still a solid game to start the DS off. ![]() Genre: Arcade Trying to put the game on the DS was always going to be a strange choice and the lack of precise controls really hurts what would otherwise have been a great product. ![]() Genre: Platformer This game is worth it for fans of the series or even people looking for a more laid back platformer ![]() Genre: Adventure Sure, it's not perfect, but it is definitely an excellent adventure worthy of the name Legend of Zelda. ![]() Genre: Adventure The train is something of a pain to deal with but it's the kind of game that is simply worth the investment ![]() Genre: RPG However, it is a good game with some solid gameplay ideas with lots to do, just so long as you're willing to work past some fairly noticeable flaws. ![]() Genre: Simulation It certainly is different and, some difficulty issues aside, delivers an excellent gaming experience that also shows us that those DS features really can make a difference. ![]() Genre: Strategy RPG This game is awesome, with some very interesting gameplay mechanics that separate it from the rest of the SRPG crowd. ![]() Genre: Platformer Yoshi's Island DS is a good game, but it is held back by flaws in its design. ![]() Genre: Real Time Strategy It's a poor RTS with way too many problems to be a worthwhile purchase. ![]() Genre: Card Duel Strategy It manages to capture the complexities of the TCG quite well, but also the major luck factor that will put many gamers off. Nintendo Gameboy Advance Reviews![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy The lack of CO choices to use in the campaign mode is a shame, but otherwise this is an excellent entry into the strategy genre. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy If you get this game prepare to lose notable chunks of your social life to it. ![]() Genre: Minigames Overall the game is a decent blast through some entertaining mini-games that will certainly appeal to Card Captor Sakura fans. ![]() Genre: Adventure It's not that the game is bad, but its flaws are just far too noticable. ![]() Genre: Racing F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is an excellent racing game, but the sheer difficulty of it can put off some gamers. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy FFTA is a good SRPG but it has its problems that prevent it from taking the step to becoming amazing. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy If you're looking for an excellent single player SRPG then your search has ended. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy However, it is still a very good SRPG that does add in some of its own elements that work quite nicely. ![]() Genre: RPG Golden Sun dives into the sea of RPGs and instantly sets a new standard for them all. ![]() Genre: RPG The Lost Age bears much of a resemblance to the original game, but contains enough new stuff to be considered a fresh experience. ![]() Genre: Fighting The presentation should have had more work done on it, but on the gameplay front Guilty Gear X does extremely well. ![]() Genre: Simulation It's certainly worth playing, especially if you've never experienced the series before, but it just doesn't have the lifespan gamers have come to expect. ![]() Genre: Sport Doubles play is hurt by a moronic partner but singles play should offer a lot of fun and the game offers a solid challenge. ![]() Genre: Racing Super Circuit may well be the best iteration for the series yet. ![]() Genre: Side Scrolling Shooter Metroid Fusion is the perfect continuation of the series classic 2D roots. ![]() Genre: RPG A trip down memory lane is not worth putting up with this. ![]() Genre: RPG For newcomers to the series it is a fine game to go with, but as a fan of the series since the old games I cannot rate this game as high as some might expect. ![]() Genre: Platformer A remake of SMB2 is probably going to remain as one of the oddest choices to have been picked as the GBA Mario launch title, but it is quite a good game. ![]() Genre: Platformer If you have a GBA this really should be one of the top priority games to get. ![]() Genre: Fighting I found this game to be decent, but really it feels too old to compete as well when against the more modern fighters, even on the GBA. ![]() Genre: RPG It's fun, sure, but you have to be prepared to manage the combat issues as well. ![]() Genre: RPG All the right ideas are there but the execution suffers in places which drags the end product down. ![]() Genre: Adventure This game easily ranks up there as one of the best adventure games around even being set in the realms of 2D. ![]() Genre: Adventure Minish Cap is a worthy adventure game for the GBA marred by some item management issues and too easy difficulty. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars has some interesting ideas, but these ideas drop it into the awkward middle ground. Nintendo Gamecube Reviews![]() Genre: Racing There's some decent gameplay in here but it's marred by some notable design flaws and all of it is over far too quickly. ![]() Genre: Simulation It eventually falters but you're likely to enjoy it all the same. ![]() Genre: Mini-game For a licensed game it surprised me with its charm and fun value, but there are still clear problems that should have been avoided that prevent it from being a must have. ![]() Genre: RPG If you're prepared to lose some battles due entirely to bad luck then you'll likely derive a grand enjoyable adventure out of this. ![]() Genre: Platformer There are far better platformers available so get them instead, and leave this on the shelf to gather dust. ![]() Genre: Fighting I really like the idea behind the beast mechanic but too much of the game is drowning in mediocrity. ![]() Genre: RPG Combat is pretty interesting and it has some nice ideas, but repetitive design and a short lifespan drag it back. ![]() Genre: RPG Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles could have done without the attempted GBA linkup and a more complex control layout, but there's still some fun to be had. ![]() Genre: Turn Based Strategy It manages to retain the magic of a Fire Emblem title while putting its own tricks into place, and the result is fantastic. ![]() Genre: Simulation Overall a nice attempt that doesn't have enough personality or variety to make it worth purchasing. ![]() Genre: Scrolling Shooter Length can be a bit of a concern, but gameplay experiences like Ikaruga can be too rare for the home console market. ![]() Genre: Racing Overall this can be quite an addicting game, and it's pick up and play concept lends itself well to a quick fun blast through. ![]() Genre: Wrestling There's potential and some actual decent ideas, but those ideas don't mean anything when the execution of the actual gameplay is so sloppy. ![]() Genre: Adventure Regardless, Luigi's Mansion is an entertaining, if shorter than expected, experience. ![]() Genre: Racing The racing is hurt by its track design and overkill weapon system, which really only leaves the battle mode as the game's standout part. ![]() Genre: Party Mario Party 4 is a solid entry in the series with interesting board designs and a good collection of mini-games. ![]() Genre: Party Mario Party 5 just isn't that much fun. Earlier games had the luck factor too, but their minigames selection was generally well designed. ![]() Genre: Stealth Once again, this is how stealth should be done. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter/Adventure It's challenging and fun and quite a fresh take on the FPS genre. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter/Adventure Some of the new stuff doesn't work quite as they had hoped, but there is no denying that Retro have delivered another fantastic title in the series. ![]() Genre: Real Time Strategy Pikmin is a very clever take on the RTS genre that offers a strong challenge while being very accessible. ![]() Genre: RPG The battle system works better than the handheld games, but everything else is just too dull and awkward. ![]() Genre: Survival Horror It certainly manages to do horror right but it has notable gameplay flaws, which tends to be a rather big problem for a game. ![]() Genre: 3rd Person Shooter Granted the game just lacks the scary atmosphere that previous games are known for, but it is definitely way more playable, which is the main point of a video game. ![]() Genre: RPG The graphics may be outdated and the magic system flawed, but these are minor nitpicks in an otherwise awesome game. ![]() Genre: Platformer There's comes a point where a game tries to do too much to offer variety, and SA2:B is the perfect example of that. ![]() Genre: Fighting It's fast, deep and offers a surprising amount of variety. ![]() Genre: Platforming The adventure elements are done wonderfully, some episodes will require a lot of thought to get through and some areas will prove fairly challenging. ![]() Genre: Fighting It's fast, frantic and yet requires a lot of skill and will last a long time. ![]() Genre: RPG It has enough role playing elements to appeal to fans of the genre but the combat system opens things up enough to entice even gamers outside of that group. ![]() Genre: Adventure Yeah, might be worth it depending on which games you want to sample. ![]() Genre: Adventure It's a different take on the series but the elements found within are very enjoyable. ![]() Genre: Adventure Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest has a few flaws, but it still stands proud as one of the better adventure games to hit the market. ![]() Genre: Adventure Wind Waker no doubt manages to capture the magic that comes from the Legend of Zelda series. Nintendo 64 Reviews![]() Genre: Action With this game they have managed to appeal to the little kid in all of us that likes to smash stuff and delivered it in the most straightforward entertaining way possible. ![]() Genre: Adventure It's enjoyable to an extent but there are some very clear bad design choices that hurt a lot of what the game had to offer. ![]() Genre: Racing It has a few flaws, not the least being a poor multiplayer experience, but it will definitely appeal to the solo racing fan. ![]() Genre: 1st Person Shooter The game does everything it sets out to do and then some, delivering a FPS experience that excels in all areas. ![]() Genre: Sport It's not without its issues, but a lot of fun is waiting on the fairways. ![]() Genre: Racing It's not a bad game, but take some thought before you invest in it, as it's not as epic as you might want it to be. ![]() Genre: Sport Mario Tennis is an enjoyable sports title that shows the kind of accessible title Nintendo wants to offer. ![]() Genre: Fighting The game just doesn't run fluid enough to provide the intense fun factor fighting games should deliver. ![]() Genre: Simulation Pokémon Snap may be a spin-off, but it is a rather successful one. ![]() Genre: Racing The game could definitely use with more tracks, but the racing is exciting and challenging, while offering great car and track designs. ![]() Genre: Adventure The atmosphere is amazing, the control setup is great, exploring Deadside is fantastic and the adventure will last some time. ![]() Genre: Space Shooter It's the kind of game you can dive into for a quick blast and challenging enough to keep gamers occupied. ![]() Genre: Space Shooter Even without the license to back it up, the game is a lot of fun and very challenging to plough through. ![]() Genre: Platformer Super Mario 64 is a very special game not only for bringing Mario in the 3D world but doing it with such style. ![]() Genre: Adventure It retains various things that made the game work, but uses enough new content to make it feel like an entirely fresh experience. ![]() Genre: Adventure Ocarina of Time is not just a good game. It's one of the N64's best titles to appear, redefining expectations of adventure games to follow and is still an excellent gaming experience even now. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter While it may live in the shadow of its predecessor, it is nevertheless a pretty good game that's still checking out, especially if you're into retro FPS games and/or Bond games. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter Jumping is a massive pain but otherwise the single player is great. Just don't expect the multiplayer to be awesome because the level design ruins it. Gameboy Colour Reviews![]() Genre: RPG Pokemon Gold (and Silver) not only built upon the foundations already laid done but addressed numerous problems present. ![]() Genre: RPG As part of the starting foundation to the series Pokemon Yellow works with the core basics but it also has balance and AI issues. ![]() Genre: Platformer Super Mario Land has some pretty notable flaws that prevent it from being a true classic, but despite them the game is still a great platformer. ![]() Genre: Adventure A few minor flaws are present, but that classic Zelda gameplay is pretty much intact. SNES Reviews![]() Genre: Space Shooter It's challenging, fun and has a lot of replay value. NES Reviews![]() Genre: Arcade What matters is that this is one heck of an addictive game, to the point it seems criminal that the plucky guy isn't featuring in more modern updates of this age old classic. ![]() Genre: Arcade It's something to try if you want an unusual gaming experience, but its repetition hinders the gameplay a lot and it's a fairly difficult setup to get accustomed to. ![]() Genre: Puzzle Put aside the minor flaws and you'll find a great alternative puzzler. ![]() Genre: Racing While the crashes may be a little inconsistent, there's no denying that there's a lot of fun to be had in blazing across the tracks deftly zooming over the ramps and hills that are in your way. ![]() Genre: Arcade It starts off well enough, if a bit slow, but nothing much changes as you play so the appeal quickly wears thin. ![]() Genre: Action It's shallow, slow, repetitive and ultimately boring. ![]() Genre: Platformer Even with a friend the terrible airborne action is still killing a lot of what is on offer. ![]() Genre: Adventure While the core mechanics are clearly there and would go on to craft an amazing series, the actual implementation is entirely too sloppy. ![]() Genre: Stealth Snake's Revenge may not have been the game fans were expecting, but it is a damn good stealth game that offers a lot to the player. ![]() Genre: Adventure If you can bear with the horrendous jumping mechanics then you can probably overlook the other niggles and therefore find a very challenging and engaging experience. ![]() Genre: Platformer It set the stage for the Mario series to flourish, it's challenging and varied in its approach. ![]() Genre: Platformer This game may not have been the original SMB2 Japan got, but I think the change of pace worked well. ![]() Genre: Platformer The technical limits couldn't be more obvious, yet the gameplay is still one of the better platforming experiences to date. ![]() Genre: Adventure/Platformer TMNT could have been great, but fighting is frustrating and platforming is often bland. ![]() Genre: Adventure he Goonies 2 is a fun platfomer/adventure game with some unique traits that let it stand out from the crowd and is certainly worth looking into if you're after some retro action. PlayStation 2 Reviews![]() Genre: Adventure Beyond Good & Evil has often been referred to as a sleeper hit, and it's easy to see why it gets such praise. ![]() Genre: Racing So in all Cel Damage doesn’t really handle the racing element quite so well but in terms of pure battle excitement it takes the prize. ![]() Genre: Horror The idea sounds great but the game is just so terribly frustrating and boring that I really didn't care about it in the end. ![]() Genre: Fighting A lot of what is offered is done better by other fighters and some things it does try just fail miserably. ![]() Genre: RPG Final Fantasy X on its own merits is still an excellent JRPG with plenty of flair and enough main quest content to satisfy fans. ![]() Genre: RPG The PS2 is home to many RPGs, so I'm sure there are other games that succeed far better than what FFXII has accomplished. ![]() Genre: 3rd Person Shooter Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is a good shooter and a great compliment to the anime. ![]() Genre: Third Person Shooter If ever there was a game to perfectly promote the ideals of renting games then Gungrave is it. ![]() Genre: On Rails Shooter Final conclusion is that Killer7 looks the part and while I did have fun blasting through it I feel that the game does fall short. ![]() Genre: Stealth Metal Gear Solid 2 is a fine example of a stealth game done right. ![]() Genre: Shooter It’s straightforward gun happy fun that lets you unleash your wraith on a variety of foes. ![]() Genre: Adventure Mystic Heroes delivers a very fun experience that lets you tear through masses of mooks with some impressive techniques. ![]() Genre: Fighting All things considered this is probably one of the most interesting fighting games I've played. ![]() Genre: RPG Its presentation is outstanding and while the gameplay does suffer from some repetitiveness and clumsiness the action is intense and interesting. ![]() Genre: Action It's shooting elements are half-assed and the fighting is terribly broken, and then more problems are sprinkled on top. ![]() Genre: Racing However, its main problem is that it just doesn't offer enough variety to remain as a long term option. ![]() Genre: Shooter So Resident Evil 4 is an excellent action shooter that might not fit the theme of the series but serves up gameplay far more interesting than its predecessors. ![]() Genre: Wrestling It has a good concept with an all female wrestling game and there is some fun to be had here. I just wish it wasn't buried under a mountain of pantyshots. ![]() Genre: Adventure The gameplay itself is very strong with its puzzle solving aspects and a good story to suck players in, but there's just not enough content here to warrant repeat plays. ![]() Genre: Action The latest entry in the series hasn't tried much different from before, and most of what it does do differently it does so poorly. ![]() Genre: RPG Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a case of one thing good one thing bad. ![]() Genre: RPG However, spending hours between the good bits does not make for an enjoyable experience and it's more likely to drive away gamers. ![]() Genre: Action Zone of the Enders is a decent game. It just fails to wow gamers and it also feels a little short on content. PlayStation Reviews![]() Genre: Action Even without the novelty value, Deception III is quite a fun game with some degree of creativity that just suffers from some design issues. ![]() Genre: RPG Without doubt, if you like RPGs you must play Final Fantasy VII. Microsoft Xbox Reviews![]() Genre: Racing Crash Nitro Kart may be a Mario Kart clone, but it's a damn good one. ![]() Genre: Fighting The story mode is weak and the counter system awkward, but the gameplay has a certain addictive quality to it that keeps me coming back for more. ![]() Genre: Sport Despite the obvious marketing tactics this is actually a rather fun, solid game. Unfortunately, it also lacks variety and feels a little awkward in some places. ![]() Genre: First Person Shooter Doom 3 is fun in the pure sense that it gives you guns and lets you mindlessly gun down anything that pops up at you. But that's it. ![]() Genre: RPG Sudeki is a wonderful game with a lot of depth and a fantastic environment. ![]() Genre: Stealth SC:PT certainly has some very nice ideas and great presentation, but it's far too frustrating and too restrictive for its own good. ![]() Genre: 1st Person Shooter However, it's an enjoyable playthrough that is worth experiencing if you've already run through the alternatives. Mirosoft Xbox 360 Reviews![]() Genre: Arcade It's perfect for short burst sessions and it's addictive quality will keep you hooked and urges you to have 'just one more go'. ![]() Genre: Minigames On its own merits the game has some cool games and some mildly interesting ones, but too much of it lacks the replay value the game needs, so the enjoyment from many of the games diminishes quickly. Sega Mega Drive Reviews![]() Genre: Arcade I suppose the title had some potential for arcade fun, but it runs out of steam very quickly and really doesn't offer much. ![]() Genre: Platformer The Lock-On feature is excellent, but even as a stand alone title this is easily one of the best titles to come out of Sega's 16 bit days. ![]() Genre: Simulation It's got all the right ideas and indeed some of it works, but terrible execution of other areas ruin what could have been a fantastic experience. Sega Master System Reviews![]() Genre: Airbourne Shooter It's ugly, ear-bleeding, repetitive, badly designed, unresponsive and difficult for all the wrong reasons. ![]() Genre: Side Scrolling Shooter It makes little sense and combat is notably flawed but the level design actually works quite nicely. ![]() Genre: Platformer Sonic's first Master System outing is a decent platformer with some aspects holding it back. ![]() Genre: Platformer I must admit I was disappointed that Tails wasn't actually playable, but other than that the game puts in some notable tweaks and improvements over the previous game. OSHI-!
You weren't kidding when you said you were raiding the contribution system. I'll get around to reading a lot of them when I have some free time, although I read one of yours before, it was great, but I forgot what it was for. -------------------

Read a couple of reviews other than those I've already seen. You set the standard too high for people like me I swear.
In short, they're excellent. -------------------

I've read all those reviews and you seem to be putting out a lot of detail in them while entertaining the audience as well. KUTGW

Thank you for the comments. Glad they're coming across well. It's great how much I've improved over the years doing these.

format stolen lol
I wonder what review you'll do next...hopefully, it's as good as most of what I'm seeing here (which is generally of excellent quality), and maybe even an AOE winner. Unless Jakkie pulls off another Majora's Mask review this fortnight. -------------------

Holy shit, I never noticed how many neopoints you have.
Some great reviews in there. Though I mainly only read games that I have played, since I can't really argue points on games that I have never owned Are you planning to do any Wii reviews, or do you not own a Wii? Also, multiplayer on Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is epic. Its not that great actually, but I can't seem to stop playing Only error that I found was on your SSBM review quoteJigg's sing doesn't help either. -------------------

Nah, no Wii yet BB. Thanks for catching that mistake - I totally forgot that Jigg's recovery is more based on her side B.
Like the format then Stalagmite? Aha. Next review is either going to be Super Mario Land or Zelda: Link's Awakening. Haven't figured out which yet, but I definitely want to add another category to my list and the Gameboy seems perfect. -------------------

Thanks Stalagmite.
It's been some time since I did a DS review, so I pumped two out this past week. The World Ends With You, which may have been overhyped somewhat but I still enjoyed playing the game. Metroid Prime: Hunters, a game where I'll never understand how it gets rated so highly. -------------------

Sounds like the sort of anime I should watch. Reminds me of Tenchi Muyo in a way, and since Tenchi Muyo was such a fantastic anime, maybe this one looks like it too.
...Good review, by the way. It really makes me want to look for the first volume right now! -------------------
