Hey, Guild Wars 2 players, remember Southsun Cove? You know, that place with the horrid crab-like karka creatures, the one that we have no reason to visit anymore after the rich ori node was removed and drop rates nerfed. Well, looks like ArenaNet is finally giving us a reason to go back on May 14, with the upcoming Secret of Southsun Cove update.
With the Molten Alliance out of the way, players can now turn toward rebuilding. Sure, the Cove seems like a decent spot to resettle, but the local wildlife is acting up as of late, and the Lionguard, with your help, must figure out why and put a stop to it. This time, your NPC friend is Inspector Ellen Kiel of the Lionguard. She doesn't look quite as gross as either Rox or Bro-ham, either.
In addition to the new story stuff, a new mini-game will be added to the Cove, named "Crab Toss." It'll be an instanced thing, like Keg Brawl, and players will be trying to capture hermit crabs while enduring karka attacks.
For PVPers, WvW will soon have Traps at their disposal, which can be purchased from the new Traps and Tricks Outfitters. Anti-stealth fields and traps that remove enemy supplies will go out first, but more will be added over time.
