That's also my default skillset right now for utilities, the only thing that changes often is switching out runboots for the Ram while in dungeons/fights that need more knockback.

Both my Rifle and Pistols are now Exotic (Mystic Forge made, so they look awesome too), next I'm going to work on getting a set of Precision+Power/Condition Damage set of Exotic armor. Have a hat from AC, so next I guess I'll just continue working down the body until I hit the shoes?

Mystic Bow looks pretty cool. Well, all of the mystic weaponry does, but especially the bow (and guns).

Defense ticks are really good if you can get at least 1 kill every 3 minutes.

Castle defense> keep defense> tower defense> supply camp defense iirc (in order of higher rewards)

I don't remember the exact values, but castle defenses gives you like almost 1 bubble every 3 mins for ticks.

Haha, yeah! I was annoyed at how all the other MMOs I've played did not have straight black long hair so I've just been spamming that for this game.

My attempts to even have a second level 80 is going rather slow, I've been more focused on trying to play around on my engineer ;-;

If it weren't for being able to level in WvW, I'd still only have one level 80 too (since I can just get exp there while giving all my WvW badges to my thief).
If you have a good group, you can get good exp starting around level 35 too (by grinding AC exp for tokens). They lowered the costs for level 80 exotic AC armor and one of the stats they have is power/vit/toughness so my friends and I were all grinding that, free 3+ levels a day for my elementalist.

I really should WvW more, it's really fun in a group, but I'm not in a guild or anything that actually does the content.

Power/Vit/Tough is an insanely good combo for tanky-dps (and use superior sigil of bloodlust: 10 power a stack, stacks up to 250 power).

I finally finished buliding 2 sets for my thief, a glass cannon set (full zerker's) and a tanky dps (full power/toughness/vit).

Tanky-DPS is awesome when you're siege-ing and when you're 1vMany. Glass cannon is better when you're going in and out/ganking or ranging from safe distance.

I do very nice burst with the full zerker's as a thief (and it can be quite fun seeing huge numbers), but I go down infinitely faster (even with vampirism runes) than when I'm stacking power/toughness/vit.

If I had to choose between 1 or the other for WvW as a thief, I would definitely go power/toughness/vit (that 6-7k hp and massive toughness does tons for survival, even with dps runes). The difference in survival is like night and day (even when using dps runes on the power/vit/toughness set), you can see a damage difference but if you have haste you stll can kill people really fast with the power/toughness/vit set since power is the main stat.

Since I have both sets though, I like to play 1 style until I get bored then respec/switch gear.

From my experience in other games, when it comes to PvP it's most fun to be incredible tough and hard to kill. That way you can wear enemies down without risking yourself getting blown up by a glass cannon. Obviously everyone prefers their own styles but defensive builds are often more effective. You can't get a kill on someone? Well at least you're alive, recover and give it another shot. A glass cannon likely can't recover as easily since they lose such a huge chunk of health if they get only a few times.
