	Log in to remove this sponsored message I recently installed Fallout 3 (Game of the Year Edition, non-Steam version) on my laptop, which operates on Windows 7 64bit. Upon starting up a new game, my game freezes at the birth scene, usually just after I choose my gender. I’ve tried: Updating my video drivers to the latest version. Updating the game to the latest version. Running the game in compatibility mode under the “XP (Service Pack 2)” setting. Running the game in windowed mode. Running the game in high, medium and low quality settings. Downloading and dropping the d3d9.dll file in my game directory. Editing the .ini file to say bUseThreadedAI=1 and iNumHWThreads=2 or iNumHWThreads=1. Disabling visual themes and desktop composition under the Compatibility tab in Properties. Moving the Fallout 3 directory out of the Program Files (x86) folder (I moved it back in). Searching various sites for other people with the same issue, using the methods they suggested as listed above. System Specs Chipset: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz RAM: 4GB Video Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me out?

	Find a 4GB enabler exe See if that helps (as you're a 64 bit) -------------------

	I installed this mod to run the game with more RAM, but my game still freezes at the same point.

	Was having the same problem, couldn't figure it out. Bethesda just kind of derped when it came to making FO3 compatible on windows 7. Make sure you try running your game as an adminstrator and if that doesn't work try running steam as an administrator. -------------------

	Have you made sure that it's a clean install? That is, absolutely no mods and nothing edited. Just install the game, get your video settings up (quality) and start a new game. The problem still occurs? -------------------

	Yes, I just re-installed the game, no mods and no tweaking. The problem still persists.
