Fallout 3: Information Thread |
|
Fallout 3 Fallout 3 is an Action RPG being developed by Bethesda Softworks Release Date: October 28th, 2008 Consoles: PC, Xbox 360, PS3. Developer: Bethesda Softworks Publisher: Zenimax Media Plot: As with the other games in the series, Fallout 3 takes place in the United States after a nuclear apocolypse. The player lives with his father in Vault 101, a fallout shelter in Washington D.C. But one day, the player wakes up to find that his father has mysteriously left the Vault, so the player leaves to search for his father. Gameplay: Character creation is done by creating your character's childhood. The character's mother dies in labor in a Vault hospital, after which the player chooses the character's Traits and general appearance during the father's DNA analysis. You then choose 7 primary aptitudes. The rest of the attributes are determined through tests taken during your character's childhood. Skills and Perks are similar to those in previous games: the player chooses three Tag Skills out of 14 to be the character's specialties, and the character will gain a Perk every other level. Perks are special skills or abilities that have many different effects. The maximum level the player can achieve is level 21. Max level 21? I tend to lose interest when I stop leveling and getting new Items. I'm sure Bethesda will make it work, and I can always start a new game. I'm really looking forward to this game.

Awesome vids, wouldn't mind seeing more 3rd person stuff though, just not into FPS games.

this game is for sure going to win GOTY. Official Xbox Magazine gave it a perfect 10/10 score (most recent OXM mag that just came out). its only real competition at all this year is GTA4, and that game didnt completely live up to the hype.
i cant wait for this shit!!!!! ------------------- ![]() | |

I have a question. Is this game like TES oblivion? Y'know, picking up clothes, customizing, lots of weapons and loooong sotry line and side quests?

I hear the storyline isn't that long, I don't know, i'm not that far through it, but otherwise, yeah, it's pretty similar to Oblivion.

The 3rd person view is terrible, but it isn't a big deal anyway, since the game feels much better in 1st person.
And the main storyline isn't very long. Maybe 15 hours. But there is a load of sidequests, and most of them are pretty long, sometimes lasting several hours. Not to mention all of the exploring that is to be done. -------------------
