It's interesting that when some players can't work out something in the game, their first thought is that the game must be glitched or otherwise broken

As pointed out in the walkthrough, the cards are to be placed on the card shaped spaces ... not merely shuffled around at the bottom

If you drag a card partly over one of these spaces and release, it will snap into place

the answer is NOT 144
The question asked is to find the number that occupies the center square (to yield the highest possible total) ... it does NOT ask what the total is
You can check the walkthrough to see the answer if you need it, but it looks like you already know what the number in the center square is

The numbers 43 to 51 total 423, so each line, column or diagonal must total 141. The only way you can get this is by putting 47 in the middle, e.g. these rows form one solution:
48.49.44 / 43.47.51 / 50.45.46

Given a set of consecutive numbers to form a Magic Square (where all the rows, columns and both diagonals all total the same) it is the middle number of the set which goes in the middle square.

In the magic square you have three columns, three rows and two diagonals - so there must be 8 ways in all of forming the total.

If you put 51 in the middle then you can get 144 - but only in four ways: 50, 51, 43; 49, 51, 44; 48, 51, 45 and 47, 51, 46. Which leaves four row/column/diagonal totals which are not 144. Oh and though 141 is the total as mentioned above, it won't work if 51 is the middle number - because 45 + 51 + 45 = 141 and you can't repeat 45.

This continues be the most commonly asked about Curious Village puzzle

As the hints state, all but one square is tilted and each pin can only be used once

The hints also give you the location of three squares and tell you the size and angle of another two squares

As an extra hint, none of the three small tilted squares mentioned in the hints overlap each other (knowing this gives you the location of one more square and just two possible locations for another)

From here, the rest should be easy (with eight pins to form two squares)

Make sure to use all the pins (all squares must have a pin in each corner)

The game does not have an option to delete the save file

The best and recommended method is to simply start a New Game and overwrite the existing save file

If you really really want to delete the save file, this can be done by purposely corrupting it (by, say, turning off the DS as it saves), but this should be done at your own risk in case something unexpected goes wrong (such as ending up with a partially corrupt file that will not load)
