I was amused several days ago when I first got to Agata Forest and found the bear sleeping to one side of the way between Sinshu Field and Agata Forest. Didn't think much of it until I came across the cabbage, and being round thought to take it up to him. It's always nice to start a side-quest without knowing it was one until you started mucking about. The first two trips were pretty easy too.
Then came the beehive, which although harder, wasn't as hard as people seem to think it. The beehive was situated hanging from a branch right under a Konohasa Blossom so it was easy to find. My main trouble came from a bit before the bear, before the narrow bit of path where there's a rock in the middle. The incline there with the dip made it hard to progress, with the day/night clock changing twice on me, though fortunately the beehive landed against said rock both times. Eventually I managed to get it up and to one side, before headbutting it against the wall and up to the bear.
So what was everyone's experience with this little quest? Was it easy/hard? Do you think you should've been given something better than a bit of praise? Did you expect a more extravagant finish to it? And out of curiosity, does it ever have any relationship to the bear in the hotel in Kusa Village, as seems to be mildly hinted at?
Compared to the log on the rapids sequence, it was sheer bliss. The first two fortunately didn't really take much effort, apart from having to find the objects, which I happened to by sheer chance while doing other things in the forest. I do wonder how many people notice and do the beehive bit without looking up a walkthrough though. Unless you used the blossoms up in the trees after starting the bear side-quest, I doubt anyone would've noticed it.
I've never managed to complete the Sleepy the Bear mini game in Agata Forest. I've gotten the first sphere to him but the others just roll down the hill. It is fun to headbutt him and have Issun scold me. x3
