VX mapping: A lot easier, less satisfying results
XP mapping: A lot more time consuming, much better results.
I always felt limited by my tileset in VX, especially with the end of my "e" tileset constantly looming overhead. In XP, if I wanted a random modified tile that I would only use once, I'd just stretch out the canvas for the tileset a bit. VX forces you to pick and choose what you add, and ultimately it boils down to having to stick with the tiles you're sure to reuse.

Well, RGSS is just a slightly modified setup for Ruby, unless I'm mistaken. Ruby itself is very similar to C++, which is very similar to C#. All of these are object oriented programming languages, which are naturally very similar. So yeah, if you learn one, the next will come much more easily. For example, after learning C++, I noticed Java is incredibly similar. I haven't had any reason to code in Java yet, but it seems I'll only need to change a few practices to change from C++ to Java.
I've also heard a few times that Ruby is considerably easier to code than other languages, so it might not be a bad place to start.

I thought windows 8 was already released? I downloaded it off MSDNAA almost a month ago.
Audio seems to be the most annoying thing to learn. Atleast for me. It's hard for someone with no musical experience or talent to do anything with those programs.
