Breath of fire 2, i never finished. i don't remember why though. #3 was great, and #4 was pretty awesome too. #5 had a LOOT of potential in my eyes, would've made a better anime than a game. I want to *bleep*ing be a dragon, not have useless limits.

5 is Dragon Quarter right? You can transform into a dragon in it (sorta), it's just not really dragon-like.

Well, you can, and even though its the hybrid form. Odjn is badass, but you can hardly play with the dragon form through the majority of the game. It set the scene excellently, Ryu pushing his body past the limits to secure a future for his friends, and it achieved that effect really well. The player was always concerned about using his most powerful asset, as it might cause him to lose control.

Maybe its only dissapointing to old fashioned BoF players, but #5 was a big kick in the nads to me.

DQ was my first BoF game, and I enjoyed it. Only problem I had, was that most of the cutscenes weren't watchable the first time through. At least it forces replay in some form, but that makes the character over-powered if overused.

Its a great game by itself. But it is not breath of fire.

If you havn't played them, you should play the earliest games. 1,2, and 3 were all great games (never completely finished 2), but really phased out thanks to the simultaneous release of final fantasy 6, and the poor translations made by capcom and square.

i looked into it, (#1) and didn't seem very interesting. Kind of reminded me of avernum and exile.

I can't imagine it not being liked. Just the idea of it is good. But then they execute it with great gameplay, an atmosphere to really fit what is supposed to be going on. I never played 1, but 2 is superb. It's hard as hell though, just because you have little guidance. Plus, you have to make your own way.

Which script affects whether or not the Job Class is displayed on the menu? I want that option removed and I've checked every default script already and couldn't find the ability to do so.
