Here's my theory on BBS:

Xehanort and Vanitas set up a conspiracy that causes Ven, Terra, and Aqua to be sent out to investigate.

Xehanort, knowing he's getting old, needs a new body to continue living. He targets Terra, and plans to use Ven as his way of getting him.

Skipping ahead, Xehanort finally takes Terra's body, explaining how the Xehanort in KHI looks like Terra. However, in the process, he somehow lost his memory, and becomes Ansem's apprentice.

Vantias, knowing that he needs to help his master remember his goals, goes into Riku, and waits idle until the time is right.

Ven, in turn, goes into Sora, knowing that as Riku's best friend, he'll do what is needed to save him, and ultimately save Terra. Aqua follows suit in Kairi, however, she did not make it as obvious, possibly as back up in case Sora should fail. Her powers as a Keyblade wielder only showing in KHII, during that very quick cut scene.

Vanitas, finally putting his plan into motion, uses a corridor of darkness to send Riku to Maleficent, who was charged with turning Riku to the darkness.

Meanwhile, Ven allows Sora to use the Keyblade, and Sora sets off to take on Riku.

Riku then allows Xehanort's Heartless to take him over, with Vanitas's looks taking shape.

After Xehanort's Heartless is finally defeated, Terra, once again in possession of his body, dons his armor again, and waits until he can get his revenge, maybe knowing that Xehanort will one day return.

When Sora's Nobody was made, because he was a Keyblade wielder and Ven was inside of him, Ven was separated from Sora, and becomes Roxas. However, because Ven was a part of Sora know, he needed to return to Sora's body, never being able to be his own being again.


I know there are probably a few holes in that theory, and I know I'm probably forgetting some things, but that's what I think is happening.

C&C please! Also, if you know some points in the story that should be noted, please bring them up!

Thats the most important thing, people on KHinsider just post stupid crap that can't be possible, all the time.

that is actually not a bad theory at all... Especially the first part. Everything holds up to what we know and it would be interesting.

This theory's really interesting.
The characters you've matched up make sense together, especially since Kairi moved from Radiant Gardens to Destiny Islands at about the same time as Birth by Sleep takes place, so that could be Aqua getting her host (Kairi) closer to Ven (Sora) and Vanitas (Riku).

Also, Kuje, I don't think they're ever going to bring back that Guardian Heartless. I used to wonder about him, too, but they haven't developed him as a character, they haven't even said he is a full character (probably just a creature created by Xehanort Heartless). In the picture you posted, we can see he's rising from Xehanort Heartless' shadow. This suggests he's just a segment of the one heartless, not a separate being. I wouldn't put too much thought into him.

I think something along those lines too of MX and Terra being whole together because Ansem couldn't have created that heartless, because when Riku took Ansem the S.O.D.'s form, he also had the guardian, but riku wouldn't dare use the heartless again after what happened before.

Well if Terra and MX did fuse, then that would make them... one being. Let me try explaining my theory again.

Person with strong heart dies, one Nobody and one Heartless is created. The heart becomes the Heartless and the empty shell that's left (aka the body) becomes the Nobody.

Assuming Xehanort is a fusion consisting of Terra and MX I'd think he has both Terras and MX's hearts/souls in him. Sort of a mixture of them both. This being the reason of the two bodies of Ansem SoD.

This'll be my theory until someone comes with another one that I think is better.

But Sora didn't have two heartless or two nobodies when he lost his heart in the first game, even though this theory says Ven is in him
So why would Master Xehanort/Terra be the only one to have a second heartless?
Maybe Ven, Aqua, Vanitas and Master Xehanort possess others by twining their souls into one with the host's
