The Count and his dragon

I have been having a lot of trouble getting through this game, and faqs out there have been zero help. But Now I'm at the count and his dragon. The dragons pretty easy, I end up killing him after only a couple of full character attacks. But the count is another thing. I use a great strategy, and I use every item sparingly. And I get thousands if not hundreds of thousands out of him, and he looks as happy as ever. I cant seem to get him out. My people are dead, and he's not even drooping because he's low on HP. Any help? Like what stats/lvs. you were, and if you know, how much HP both of them actually have. Thanx in advance. I'll post my three characters and their levels that I'm using.

Jazz-Lv. 35
Frederic- Lv. 37
Allegretto- Lv. 37

Everyone else- Lv. 34 and the guardians are 32.

Your far too low leveled. I believe I was around the lower 40's when I fought him... also, the team your using is the best team for sure, you just need to level up a bit more. Forget about leveling anyone else, they gain half EXP, that is more than enough...Not sure how much but it tells you on the FAQ's. In any case, if you have Fredric constantly healing you should be fine... though you may find it that bit easier if you use Serenade who can heal all three characters at the same time (and twice in the same turn)...

re: The Count and his dragon

Well I worked a bunch last night at leveling up. I've got Retto at 39 almost 40, viola at 37, and Jazz at 38. Bit different. I'm going to get a few of them to at least 40 and then try again with a couple character combinations till it all works out.

Believe me when I say that most of the characters are quite useless. Retto and Jazz are a must in the fight, so be sure to level them to at least 42, and then for your third character, just choose between Fredrick and Serenade. If you level them up, you wont need to worry about anything else.

re: The Count and his dragon

Now Krunal I don't agree on several things.
I just did this fight (levels below 40) and I have to say I find you dead wrong here, Retto and Jazz are never a "must" in any fight and certainly not here. Actually I find they often suck together because Jazz are too slow and get to move too seldom. That is an extra big problem in a fight like this when you are up against a really fast hard striking enemy.

For this fight switch at least Jazz for a high speed, fast hitting character like Salsa or Falsetto (I used lvl 37 Falsetto) They build chains fast and can execute them often and a good tip here is whenever you see Waltz's turn is coming next end yours with a special that has descent knockback. If he starts his turn sitting on his ass he wont have time for as many hits back at you.
I also recommend the two recovery accessories you should have by now for this fight.

I can only recommend Retto and Jazz together in fights against enemies with very high DEF or good shielding and this is not one of them.

I also have to say most characters actually do have their uses, its just a matter of who you combine them with and playing style.
Well it is also a matter of personal preferences. Personally overuse Viola because I find it rewarding to aim, shoot and score a GOOOOOD long distant hit. For healing others are better.
