who think ninja gaiden 2 is harder than ninja gaiden 1, i myself think so, ninja gaiden 1 is superb and addictive, enyoyable, also a bit ennoying frustrated but ninja gaiden 2 is good but so ennoy and frustration hard, a pain in the ass!

I wholeheartedly agree. Acolyte was supposed to be easier than Ninja Dog, but it's definitely more like Normal on NGB.

I agree and disagree.

I think NGB is smarter. The ninjas are much more intelligent and put up a much better fight. You actually have to think to beat them, and use your skills.

This one is difficult because enemies have a lot of uninterruptable moves that deal a lot of damage. The whole "recharging health system" which was intended to make the game easier actually makes combat harder. To compensate for the fact that your health recharges after every battle, the designers made it so that at every battle your health goes down to very low levels. On harder difficulty levels this system is a much bigger liability.

But the combat itself feels dumbed down, and you could literally win the vast majority of your battles with the Y button alone.

On top of this we're spammed with bosses that do very little in the way of challenging us other than find the weakness and then attack. These bosses deal massive amounts of cheap damage that are unavoidable sometimes. Plus, some are just plain stupid. A giant armadillo that rolls around and shoots fireballs from its shell? Ridiculous. My favorite bosses were Genshin and Elizebet because they actually felt like some of the bosses in NGB. They were skillful, and you in turn had to be skillful as well.

So in summary:

NG1 = Fun Hard
NG2 = Cheap Hard

The Armadillo Bosses, the Tunnel Worm, the Subway Boss, and The premature form of the Archfiend were the only bosses I found to be slightly cheap really.

I'm still trying to figure out how the health regeneration becomes a liability. If it didn't regenerate, that red bar would technically be right where you lost your health down to.

I completely agree with your list of cheap bosses Tenken.

I'm really not sure which one is harder just yet. I get the feeling that the difficulties of NG2 (showers of explosives, incendiary ninjas, big mech fiends and damn electric worm) will become a breeze once I figure out the best ways to deal with them. I still haven't tackled Mentor and Master, though, so I guess I don't really know anything.

I can't really say, NG2 is my first Ninja Gaiden.
But so far for me its smooth riding, if I have a problem with a boss I explore every type of strategy there is until I find a way to defeat him. Like with Genshin it was more of Dodge/Block type battle and you wait for him to charge and then you release the might of the dragon sword on him.

^ Na with Genshin (the first time around) it was a simple case of dodge then spam Y (especially if you're using the True Dragon Sword), just like a lot of other bosses in the game.

I thought that Ninja Gaiden 2 was hard for the following reasons...
BOSSES
*Subway Boss
*Archfiend First Form
*Armadillo things (seriously, how the *bleep* do you escape the explosion?!)

STANDARD ENEMIES
*Anything fought in or on water
**bleep*ing dogs!

^ For the armadillo - Have you heard of the block button? A ninja must block well to truly achieve balance...

For everything else - You haven't got a very good imagination have you?

Actually, you can just run away from the armadillo when he is dead. That works too. The first time I actually died because I forgot to run away from him.

^ I tried that the first time I fought it, I reached the invisible barrier far away and the explosion still got me.
