As a Ninja Gaiden fan, I see nothing wrong with it. I'd rather this game be great and the last one than the last of the series that was actually good, followed by bad ones.

I'd love it for it to be followed by excellent ones, and we all know Team Ninja has the ability to create more fantastic quality Ninja Gaiden games.

I'd like for the series to be laid to rest for some years, but I'd also like to see it resurrected some years in the future when new technologies come around.

All great series deserve this treatment, so long as it isn't done to death.

The way Itagaki words it, it's as if it'll never come back again, at least that's how I took it. But yeah, likely to go out with a bang if this is it, so NG II should be better than I expected. Going to go with Eureka on this one, though, Team Ninja can keep NG's flow going for a decent series.

I wouldn't mind if Ninja Gaiden II were to be followed by a spawn of sequels - Just as long as they were good. And considering Team Ninja's work their with their series, with the exception of the beach games with the DoA girls, I'm pretty certain that they'd be able to make another top-quality Ninja Gaiden game.

The way I see it, it's only the end to the Ninja Gaiden series.

DOA is still continuing, with a new title which is to either be an RPG or an Action game.

There's also Project Progressive, another Action game being developed by Team Ninja.

Ninja Gaiden had it's decent run, let it end and be reincarnated in another 20 years as a virtual reality game.

It 'ended' before, though, didn't it? It's an old series, brought back as one of the best ever IMO, and I reckon history will repeat itself in that respect.

Yes. I've no experience with the older games, but I'd imagine I'm right in assuming that the newer Ninja Gaiden series are a reincarnation of the older ones.

Bringing back an already amazing game like the current Ninja Gaidens on future consoles would be great to see.

Yep. The NG -> Black -> Sigma line was essentially what happened between NG I, II, III and NG as we know it on the Xbox.

NG/Black/Sigma are the same game, they cover nothing between any of the original games.

If anything, they're prequels to the series.

You mean NG I, II, and III, Tenken? I'd take this new series as a reboot, different take on the previous story and such. June 3rd is just around the corner. Just about.

It really is a reboot, but in the past Itagaki has made mention that it may well fit in the timeline.

Only thing is, he can't determine if that timeline is DOA, NG, or a combination.
