I am not sure if you are playing the PS2 version, but if you are then the answer is that there are no seeds in the PS2 version.

Why do you ask the question about seeds?

Ahh well I can answer this question.


You first need to have crafted the Shell Hoe and you need a supply of Ash that you need to have gathered from the fire pits.

Once you have the plans for the Shell Hoe and have crafted the hoe, go to Special Plans and then choose
Cultivatable Soil Patch, and you will need the hoe, cooking skill 4 or higher and Ash from the fire.

Next go back to playing your Sim and then go up to where you placed the Cultivatable Soil Patch and choose to "Plant Sprout" at which point you come to screen where you can choose to plant a resource or to plant a food item. Choose which ever you want to plant.
