Do people actually like this game?

i just borrowed it from a friend and right off the bat the cut scenes were cool but the gameplay is really wierd. is it just at the beginning of the game that is super lame or does this game get any better? maybe i dont understand, if somebody can please tell me something about this game that makes it worth playing please?!

To be honest, this game was a real disappointment. The gameplay was rediculously easy, the voice acting was terrible (I know many people say that about lots of dubs, but this game was just bad.), and the story wasn't interesting. It seemed like they rushed this game into the market. If you really want to play a good Star Ocean game, then you should start with Star Ocean: The Second Story or Star Ocean: Till The End of Time. I don't think I'm expecting too much out of Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Anyone elses opinion would also help.

TteoT was far superior to SO4. Seriously, I can't even finish SO4 and I'm a huge fan of the series in general. There's really very little redeeming about the game and I've lost most any reason to play it at all.

in what way was TtEoT "far superior"? gameplay wise I would never put it above this game, TLH is as much fun as the PS2 tri-Ace titles.

albeit story wise this one is very bad, they clearly spent zero time on it.

really? there's just more emphasis on skills and rush combos now.

I kinda agree about the difficulty though, personally I plan on replaying it on Universe soon.

i happened to like this gmae alot. i like that the story was not too long and was rather simple. i usually play through game on easiest difficulty just so i can see the story then go back and do all the extra side quests and stuff.

the battle system is also basic but does take a little thought in how you wish to set up your party and their abilities. lots of options are there. the battle trophies are also kinda interesting.

the only problem i really have with the game is the affinity and required scenes to see all the endings. i was pretty annoyed when i realized i had missed one or two. also the cutscenes needed to be shorter or something.

this game seems just like almost all rpg's i have played. good for a once or twice through then sit on shelf for awhile till you want to play some more.

This game kicked ass. The only other SO i played was 3 on the ps2 and I loved that game aswell, 4 felt just like 3 in so many ways I dont see how you can bad mouth it, stop being so picky about games or else youl stop playing the good ones like this. chill out.
