Not only do I not have a 360, but 360 games are region locked. Japanese RPG developers have a tendency not to release their games in Europe either - I'm already missing out on Tales of Vesperia.

The day SO4 is confirmed for release in Europe, I'll buy a 360.

Every 360 RPG that has been released for the console has always made it outside of Japan.

In a recent press release, Square-Enix promised that all three of their new RPG titles will be released outside of Japan.

I believe the same will come of Tales of Vesperia. =]

I'm quite disappointed with both Sony and SE. Sony for not getting in there first with the exclusivity, and SE for going to X360 (but I can see why they went that route). I can still be annoyed at them though

Just to let you guys know, I'll be moving this forum to the Xbox360 section, since there is no confirmation of a PS3 version, there is however confirmation of an XBOX360 version. A new PS3 forum will be created if it's ever created for the PS3....

One simple and obvious reason is that there are more 360 sold worldwide and therefore there is a bigger possibility that the game will sell well. But like you said, it's not like one of these titles are going to sell consoles. For an RPG to sell a console it has to be a series that has been around for some time and proved it's quality. If you honestly believe that then I'm simply going to have to start ignoring your posts, in fear that it may contain this kind of stupidity... HD does NOT make a game region-less. If that was the case then Blu-ray movies WOULD BE REGION FREE

Proof

Movies are a totally different thing, becuase there usuallt released at WAY different times. So its to stop them losing cinema sales by people importing the movie from abroad. Games are different

Also isnt monster hunter developed by capcom not square enix?

Well in my experiance yes the 360 is doing slightly better than the ps3 in Europe.

Whereas in japan xbox is gettting whooped by wii and ps3, hence MS trying to get games that appeal to them.

I don't see how switching to HD will do anything. All TV's these days can accomodate both PAL and NTSC, so it doesn't matter. The console will ALWAYS be able to take in both, since many developers have decided to make their games region free. Your proof is a post by a member, a member that seems quite new. I'm sorry if I don't take his words as fact. Show me an actual source, something a lot more reliable than a person on an internet forum.

If Steel Magnolia were to say it then I'd believe it, else, I wont.

Btw, I've had this forum moved to it's new resting ground. If we ever do get it on the PS3, I'll just create a new forum like I created this

Region coding is not set by Microsoft on the 360 games, it is up to the publisher - The majority of games are not region locked, but some are. Play-Asia has a very good list, America's Army is allowed in America and Japan, but not Europe.

For one, nobody really counts the Wii anymore since its pretty much dominating everywhere.

Ah well, this is another title that I can add to my "No longer wanted/interested in" listed

People here in Sweden (and other EU countries) are tired of consoles breaking and having to send them to Germany and then waiting two weeks to get them back. Instead they buy a PS3 which has a really low fail percentage. This is only from my experience though.

They also like to get the games, which unfortunately the EU does not do very well. We have missed out on some great games, and with the PS3 being region less for games, it means that we can import - that's not always an option on the XBOX360 - HD or not, as I said above, I don't believe that one bit, till I see some proof from a reliable source.
