What with the PSP Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness having Ad-hoc, do you think, considering the PS3 is very much wired for online play, that Disgaea 3 will feature online battles?

I mean, they are doing it with Ad-hoc with the PSP, I don't think it will be too hard for them to use an online version of that, with D3...

I don't know anybody with a PSP, so I'll likely never get to play Ad-hoc with anybody on the PSP game, but I'm sure at least SOMEBODY on my PSN will be getting this game...

So, what do you think? Yay, or Nay for Disgaea 3 online play?

WTF, indeed!

that's INCREDIBLY lame. its hard enough for me to battle people on the PSP version because my friends either don't own a PSP or Disgaea. I was looking forward to online versus mode via the Network.

Surely, they'll change their minds...

Not likely, considering the game is already out (In Japan)....

The most we can hope for, is that they eventually release online gameplay via a downloadable content (free, one would assume)....

It is perfectly possible for them to do it that way, I think....

What 'later game' though? D4? Or a non-Disgaea game (hopefully still a tactics themed one)?

Responding to questions from The Kabushiki Shimbun in Japan, Nippon Ichi CEO Kouichi Kitazumi said "We'll be looking into signing on with Wii in the future."

Earlier in the interview, Katazumi had admitted that his company had not given enough support to Nintendo game machines. "We wanted to sign on and get new fans," he said of Nintendo platforms in general.

Nippon Ichi recently released its first games for the DS in Japan.
