I certainly do. At times my attention to detail borders on the obsessive with this game, which is why I go through it at a relatively slow pace and struggle to get beyond the first couple of seasons. I still enjoy it, though, just as I did this article; great read and I agree with every word.

I'm really glad I inspired you to create different tactics, and hopefully I should be posting more on tactics and how to create successful sets soon. I hope never to see you complaining in the Gen Disc again now

The Shape: I'm not quite as obsessive, but I get a horrible feeling I'm about to become it! I have yet to play a season after 2 weeks of owning the game. Is that slow? Thanks for the kind words

Huzzer: I think the injury time is fine to me, not many times in a match does injury time end [exactly on the time signaled, but in future matches I shall be studying that further.

My point is more the amount of times there is 4+ minutes. I have rarely seen that much injury time in real life. This is particulalrly strange when there are no injuries. This happens whatever the score, so I don't blame it on the game cheating, just something I have notcied that I think they might look to fix on future versions of the game.

Anyway, lets not get off the subject and hijack this thread with what is a very minor problem with the game. I may knock up an article or two tomorrow before the footy.

I really agree to everything said in this article. I've seen numerous threads occur on this forum telling how unfair the game is because people cannot manage to "win". People seem to feel that applying a tactic that looked good at first idea should be working instantly in the game and be a guarantee for future success. Wrong.

The whole point of this lies with the people/ managers themselves. As in how do you approach the game? If you approach it as "enjoying the chance if being in a manager's skin" you're doing it right and you will probably accept last minute goals by opposing teams, loosing your star midfielder to injury or an elite team etc etc etc. It's just way paranoid to think a match engine is biased/ the game "doesn't want you to win", and that kind of crap. It's just a matter of trying to fit a certain kind of managing style to the squad you are going to have to perform with. Of course your title winning tactic with Barcelona won't fit a Romanian 2nd division side who are predicted to finish 12^th. Just for the simple reason that they do not possess players called Messi or Eto'o.

So one tactic to rule them all? I guess not. The point is giving you players instructions that fit their qualities. And if you're beaten, accept it, watch your matches and see where you are overrun, try to turn things around, see where you can improve and give it a go again. Stop blaming the game for the fact that you cannot get it right.
