The patch always comes in a "packed" form. You're gonna have to use Win RaR to unpack it. Once you have unpacked it you can just doubleclick it and it will start updating.

I have a network game with some friends and wonder what effect downloading the 8.02 patch will have on this network game. If i have the 8.02 patch and they have the original will that mean i can no longer take part in the network game with them?

Yes, to be able to play a Network Game, all the participants need to be on the same version of the game.

I'd say the bug fixes that 8.0.2 would be worth a restart but of course it's up to you and your friend really.

I am not sure i want to start over after two good seasons with my home town salisbury lol.
Is there any way i can have both versions on my computer, so i can carry on with that game on the original patch but also start a new game on the 8.02 patch? Thanks

P.S. is there anywhere i can go to check the main differences in player starts between the 01 patch and the 02 patch? Thanks again

i cannot seem to start fm2008. the program is loaded in xp, i can see it in task manager under processes but the game doesn't start. i worked fine until a few weeks ago and now it won't start... what can be the problem? i also reinstalled it twice and updated it to 8.0.2.

I you are getting a crash dump error, it basically means you're fooked for that specific savegame. Some people have been lucky and got past the crash dump by holidaying past the date where it crashes, or removing the crash file from the Crah dump folder but both are not confirmed solution to a crash dump, unfortunately.

If your savegame keeps getting one, you can upload it to the SI server, and how to do that is explained here.

I have downloaded the patch and saved it in databases but when i start new game there is no update available (despite it being in databases on fm editor).

You don't need to save it in the database folder. download the patch and double click it, this will then run the patch and you can update the game from there. Once that's done, open up your game and select new game, the 8.0.2 patch will be available to play on.

Has anyone else who has installed this patch noticed that the scrollbar automatically moves to the top of the screen when selecting/removing a player from a position (either in the squad screen or the tactics screen)?

and would anyone know how to fix this?
