Tottenham Hotspur - Guide |
![]() Tottenham Hotspur Information ![]() Board Expectations ![]() Transfer Budgets Winner - 23.5m Title Challenge - 21.5m Continental Qualification through league finish - 19m Top Half Finish - 15m I recommend the 3rd choice. I feel that this is a good target to aim for. You should be fit enough to challenge next year but first the first year, play it safe. Players Goalkeepers Radek Cerny -This player is on loan for the season. I would recommend keeping him on loan but he would be your 3rd goalkeeper, if you were to sign a backup. My recommendation is further down the page. Paul Robinson -A good goalkeeper. No1 for England for a reason. A handy part of the team and can always (from my experiences) be relied upon. Defenders Pascal Chimbonda - A good RB for this season, maybe get a different one for the next but good for this season. Your 1st choice unless you decide, to take my recommendation and he'll be 2nd. Paul Stalteri - Shocking standards for Tottenham. Sell as fast as you can. Unless of course you like him for some strange reason. Michael Dawson - A good young defender. I recommend buying my recommendation though as he isn't good enough yet. He is the perfect man you can rely on when somebody is injured, although sadly he is also injured at the start of the game. Anthony Gardner - I feel his is not good enough for this squad. I recommend you sell him to raise transfer funds. Ledley King - Injured at the start, but once you get him back he is immense. He is a rock at the back and gets better every game. Along with my recommendation you cant go wrong in the first season. Ricardo Rocha - I think you should keep him but you shouldn't really need to use him. Maybe right at the start but not really other that that. If you feel like it, you can sell him. Younis Kaboul - A great young talent in years to come. You can also you him as a DM. He is quite handy in both CB and DM. A good squad player. Lee Young-Pyo - I feel he should be kept as you wont really have enough money left for a LB too. But he is quite handy too as he can be backup for both LB and RB. Gareth Bale - An excellent LB for years to come. The hottest prospect for Tottenham. A first team starter and should not be sold at any cost. Midfielders Tom Huddlestone - I sold him on my game to raise funds for Banega. Although really i think its 50/50 whether you keep him. Didier Zokora - I think he should be sold and should be used to get in extra cash. Sell. Teenu Tainio - Must Go! I think he is not good enough for Tottenham. Sell to raise funds. Jermaine Jenas - A good player i feel you should keep him for 1 season, then offload him. Aaron Lennon - Injured at the start of the game, but when he gets back to full fitness. Wow! keep him or die. He is pacey and can deliver the perfect ball. In my first season with him he made 31 starts and got 18 assists. Steed Malbranque - Keep him for the time being and play him on the wing. He should do a good job there. Wayne Routledge - SELL SELL SELL Kevin Prince-Boateng - A good AMC but if you buy Modric he should be rotated for good progress and eventually he should be very good. Strikers Robbie Keane - A good striker. He should start upfront until you other strikers can develop. Then he should be sold later on in your manager career. Darren Bent - On a par with Keane. he should be kept but your 3 strikers (excluding Berbatov) should be rotated as they are equal quality. Dimitar Berbatov - You should definitely keep him. He is a world-class striker and can bang them in again and again and again. Jermaine Defoe - People have different ideas of this player. I feel Cesar Delgado will become better so i sold him raise cash. One To Watch Philip Ifil - Good right back. 50/50 for the future though. Give him intense training. Recommended Signings ![]() Luka Modric AM RLC- A terrific young versatile player. Can play anywhere across the Midfield and can make the difference. At the start can be bought for 7-8M ![]() Cristian Zaccardo D RC - A great full-back for any side and should fit in well with an injury defeated side. Can be bought for 7-8M ![]() Luisao DC - A great bargain buy for a weakened position at Tottenham. He should fit in perfectly and should do a fantastic job. Available from 5-6M. ![]() Cesar Delgado FC - A fantastic replacement for Jermaine Defoe. In 3 or 4 seasons he is top class, so get him cheap while you can. Available from 3-4M. ![]() Ever Banega DM - A top class DM for years to come. A must get. Get him at the start from 5-6M Recommended Sales Jermaine Defoe - 5M Paul Stalteri - 500K - 1M Anthony Gardner - 1 - 1.5M Tom Huddlestone - 4 - 5M Didier Zokora - 4 -5M Teemu Tainio - 4M Wayne Routledge - 2 - 3M Recommended Tactic ![]() A nice 4-4-2 diamond formation suits Tottenhams style of play, and hopefully your strikers can finish off the shots. Hope It Helps ------------------- ![]() Credit to Footy Manager King

Nice Guide Mate
Well done. Try get rid of those "horrible" kits though. I could send you my link for my Graphics Folder which has all the competition logos, club logos, kits, face packs. EDIT **** Totally agree with Keano about players sold, Zokora and Huddlestone are class. Banega isn't a must buy as Huddlestone is just as good to begin with. Lorik Cana > Banega anyway ------------------- ![]()

I dont know where you are coming form with this guide, Dawson definately is good enough, and should be your starting center back, and Huddlestone and Zokora should NOT be sold, Huddlestone is awsome on the game and as is Zokora.
Btw: The third kit is wrong, our third kit is the bright yellow one. ------------------- ![]() Play up Stompe, Stompe play up !

quote Onuoha16You can get rid of the background kits though. There is a thread about it somewhere, try in recommended downloads. I don't suggest downloading that though... My Graphics Folder has everything you'll ever need. Ask someone who has downloaded it ------------------- ![]()

Just because they arent as good as the players you want to bring in, dosent mean they should be sold, and its not all about stats.
Im not being nasty here, just opinion, but I think you have got it wrong. ------------------- ![]() Play up Stompe, Stompe play up !

Its a nice guide! Good of you to do one, Would be good if there was one thread of like all Premiership team guides for people to look at rather than continuously starting new threads. Anyway, as a Spurs fan, and playing them a lot on the new game I have a few suggestions, only my opinion though....
* I have to agree with Keano10, Dawson is a really good centreback, keep him. * Zokora is an able midfielder, i wouldnt sell him unless you receive a good offer 5million plus. * Same with Huddlestone, comes on leaps and bounds. * Kaboul is okay, i personally think Dawsons better slightly, but as you say improves very well. * Keane and Defoe stay prolific uptil they are both 30-31 years old. Berbatov goes without saying. Bent personally wasnt great for my team but I reckon that depends on style of play you go with. * Signings, I again agree with Keano10, i dont feel you need Banega at all, Spurs have midfielders in abundance who are good players. * Ultimately the necessity is a strong left winger, Malbranque actually plays very well there, but an out and out left winger is needed for Spurs from the start. * Chimbonda doesnt need replacing, he is class for 2-3 seasons, no hurry to sell him imho. * Id never sell Defoe for 5million, thats just ridiculous! * KP Boateng, is young, one thing to remember, he is a player who if used well and correctly can be great. * Ifil has never turned out that great on my games, he is a great Championship RB but hes not near a class top 4 side Right back standard, i got 1.5million selling him straight away. * Jenas is okay, does sound, will do you for seasons, however when you push the top four, youll need a stronger Att Mid. * Adel Taarabt is one to watch, AC Milan bought him on my game, again like KP, depends on if you bleed him well into the 1st team gradually. * Dorian Dervitte aswell with the right training, he grows into a class centre back and he plays for Chelsea on mine and has really strong stats. * Gardner, Rocha, Assou Ekotto, Ghaly, Routledge and Tainio, look to sell these either 1st or 2nd season, they dont cut the mustard. * Never sell Bale, Berbatov, King, Lennon, Keane, Defoe. These 6 players helped me to win the League twice and are still performing amazing for me. * The formation...needs more elaboration, anyone can just pick a standard tactic, you should give an insight to style and individual commands, however great guide to make and im sure may will appreciate it KUTGW This message was edited by TheresOnlyOneKeano on Dec 30 2007. -------------------

quote turna08And anyone cares what you think about writing styles............No, i didn't think so. I dont plan to sit here and write an SOMS anyway, so god knows what your waffling on about. Why you decided to respond is beyond me. I admit theres a lot of points, but as i said only my opinion and i think its a good guide and the lads done well doing it. Im a spurs fan so any spurs topic im gonna waffle on for hours, much like id expect you to about chelsea. Anyway, not the place to argue. Well Done Onuoha16 on a good thread! -------------------
