Do we get to upload the character from the first one using the hardrive or do we have to create them again?

We will be controlling the same character, however, you can revamp him anyway you want, including, turning him into a woman. It seems complete customization is what Volitions is going for.

Since this is a direct sequel, I am pretty certain that we will be using the same character and it will be fully customizable just as in SR.

Though, I read that it's like, 15 years in the future. So what has our character done for 15 years? Also, does anyone think he'll talk this time?

I'm 99% sure it takes place in the present not the future. Also, he talked several times in SR.

I'm pretty sure i read that it's only 4 months after the attempt on your life.

The IGN preview that's up now states that you will be playing as the same character, however the explosion on the boat at the end of the first game left you so mangled that plastic surgeons completely reconstruct your face...and, since you can play as a female, I guess they reconstruct your sex, too.

The main character will also talk a lot more in this installment.

EDIT-Reading back through a few previews, I found that the accurate amount of time elapsed between the end of the first game and the beginning of the second is 15 years.

Okay, about the sex change what ever you make in SR2 people act like thats the way you were in SR but instead of making a patch for SR to be female they just said a sex change as a joke.

And the time after the first one is 3 years the 15 year thing is that the city has changed like it has been 15 years also called comic book time.

Your character will be fully customizable from male to female.

so is it 3 years or 15...I'm guessing 15 cause julius looks really really old in it...has anyone heard if you ever see the cop guy in it again..

That's VERY interesting and makes me wonder. Why do they need to have him in a coma for 15 years?! Think about it, they could have just as easily had him in a coma for the THREE years since SR was released, and had the same effect. This is why I am starting to wonder if that extra 10 years in a coma, making the effective year of SR2 2020, is being done to introduce us to technology we don't have now. Because if the article is right, this game takes place 12 years into the future, which makes me wonder what kind of vehicles, flyables, weapons and technology we will see in the game represented by this near future?
