I've already put the screenshots in the Information Thread, but thought that it would be a good idea to make a new thread about it, so that we can all actually discuss the screenshots in more detail (much like the information is discussed in more detail in the GTA4 forum).

That has definitely made me more interested in buying the game.

I wonder how differently the gameplay will be depending on if you're a girl compared to a guy. It seems odd to be able to play as a female.

I guess this means that SR2 will once again feature a mute protagonist?

From what I hear, the protagonist will talk. Also, keep in mind that there would easily be a subroutine programmed to make the character's voice change depending on the level of customization. They can have the same main character lines acted by black males, females and white males, and have the game superimpose the appropriate voice over the character you choose.

I'd imagine the characters voice will be customizable this time 'round too. Varying bass and pitch properties at very least. Those character pics look awesome. DD:!

I seriously doubt that we will be able to play as a girl and will end up with a deep guy's voice the whole game. I remember reading somewhere that the main character will speak a lot more in this game. I also doubt that you will choose a white character and have him sound like James Brown.

Yeah, a girl with a mans voice would be funny.

That's a very good question and makes me wonder. It might add to the replay value if your choice of character actually had an effect on the way the story played out. I somehow doubt this will happen in SR2, but it is a cool thought.

I think that's waaaaaaay in the future of gaming. All the different permutations possible, and each one having an effect on how the story line plays out would be insanely diverse. There'd never be a reliable guide around to the game unless you provided an exact character model along with your guide.

Still, awesome thought. :D

They'll have to create a whole AI for the game itself, which would judge what would be the Mafias reaction if the player attacked a street gang, etc. It would be really complicated.

Maybey if your a girl you'll just have to date other girl's .

I am hoping that there is no "Dating". I found it to be cumbersome and quite boring after the first 2 times in GTA IV, and it's something I hope SR2 doesn't adapt. As for the voices, I think there will be preset ones for female and male, then an adjustment for bass+treble, etc. somewhat like Shaney said.
