well, in other news, my game warns me about removing the game card while it is on. the mirror, pond and (eventually) the library are places for inretacting with other rf2 ds players, and that's where my game especially tells me to be careful not to remove the card. hopefully this wasn't done before you received your 'gift'.
if you accidentally removed the card while your ds was on, hopefully that didn't damage the gamecard! =cO although it still sounds suspicious that you cannot save at the 2 main points in the farmhouse. when it froze, did you turn of your ds first? have you tried starting a completely new game and still have the same issues? do you play mostly with the ds charging or with the battery's power? i ask because sometimes if the battery is low it can mess with the game. this game is really complex in animation sequences and storing massive amounts of character statistics, so i think maybe it draws a lot of power to play it.
alas, if you feel like starting a new game and succeed in finding a non-dysfunctional save point, here is a tip: there is a point in the intro dialogue, between mana giving you tools and when you talk to her a second time,
where time stands still.so, if you are careful not to use all of your rp/hp (and thus die), you can clear your entire field before talking to her and douglas again. also, if you talk with her enough after that, she will give you some free seeds (but you probably knew that).
