I know that there are threads like this over the Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 forums but now that there is a Silent Hill 5 forum we can now post are thoughts on it here.

So explain your thoughts on Silent Hill, what would you like to see in it? what would you not like to see? stuff like that enjoy!

I would like to see this game developed by Team Silent...

Well, SH2 was my first introduction to the grim world of Silent Hill... Well, not really. The demo of the original game was, but back then, it didn't really make an impression, as i was a die-hard Resi fan(boy). But i've broaden my horizons since those times.

What really hit me when i first played the game was the strong sense of suspense. I remember i was so nervous when i first played it, and was scared every time i heard some strange sound in the distance.

Then, with SH3, i was used to the game mechanics, so it was a breeze for me. Again the suspense really impressed me. And so did the craphics. I was amazed of how the game looked, considering the platform it was released on.

Then came The Room... At first it failed to impress me, but then the story took a hold of me. To actually see a character mentioned in a newspaper found in a trashcan in SH2 was, i think a good move from Team Silent.

And now, to the main point, or issue, if you will...

I don't know... I have faith that it will turn out to be a great addition to the series, despite being developed by a different company. I can honestly say that i'm waiting to see how Silent Hill V will turn out to be. Will I buy it? Yes. Without a doubt. I hope the story will be as good as in the previous installations, if not better.

Nope... And i am ashamed of the fact... I hope it will be released in PS Store at some point.

I'd be ashamed too. I've beaten it probably 5 times or so. I even have it on my PSP and I've played through it twice already just on there.

Just go buy it for like 5 bucks.

No it's not on the PSStore, i have a homebrew psp.

I haven't played it, i know, i know but don't worry i haven't even called myself a true fan of Silent Hill BUT! before you go and pick on me let me explain alright now.

I knew about Silent Hill but i never had the guts to play it the first Silent Hill i ever seen was Silent Hill 2 and it was a Demo i never played it i only seen it getting played i never knew about Silent Hill 3 and when Silent Hill 4 came out and i seen it i was like "Alright I'll play it" i did play it and i loved it so i worked my way back learning the Silent Hill story but backwards, i play Silent Hill 3 and beat it then played Silent Hill 2 but didn't beat it (i hired it out and i had to take it back i didn't beat it until i bought it) i then looked for Silent Hill 1 but years and years past and i have NEVER EVER seen a copy of the game.

I do want to play it but I've learned heaps about it so it feels as though i have already played it, the moment i find Silent Hill 1 i will play it.

Also i don't live in the U.S i live in Australia so keep that in mind before saying head down to whatever game store to get it TRUST me when i say I've looked in every game shop in town.

It's not about just hearing the story, it's about playing it. Silent Hill 1 is better than the others in some areas still.

I mean a school in Alternate Silent Hill?! You haven't seen that anywhere else except the original.

I know, i know it ain't my fault the first (and last time) i seen Silent Hill 1 i was too freaked out to play it.

Also you know what i wouldn't mind to see in SH5, more puzzles i love them puzzles, and more gore SH3 gore, it adds to the horror of the game if you ask me.

I think it would be interesting to have Travis from SHO make an appearance, yknow as a sort of "so this is what has happened to the town over the years" kind of thing. but depending on whatever happens to him in the end of the game, really will determine if we'll ever see him again.

anyway... I was introduced to the series with SH3 and found it to be an experience unlike any other game Ive played. It brought me into a whole new realm of fear, the kind of fear that your run-of-the-mill zombie from the Resi series couldnt bring. Ive dabbled around with SH2, but have yet to beat it... but I loved the psychological aspect of fear--thats even part of the reason Im procrastinating on beating it. XD

I wouldve actually preferred to see another female lead character, but it seems a bit too late for that to happen. and the mentioning of "an enhanced offensive and defensive" combat system sounds like this game will either be setup to fail or set for success. only time will tell tho...

I would like to see another female role, well maybe if there is a Silent Hill 6 we will see another female role, lets just cross are fingers.

Same here. It was fun to play as a character that wasn't a middle-aged man in SH3..
