Once you enter the cheat, and are able to set the it to variable or uniform, well. What are the effects? What does each do?

At the title screen press Up, Triangle, Left, Circle, Down, X, Right, Square.

I change it, but don't notice any differences. I thought it might slow or speed up gameplay, but I get nothing.

Uniform makes it so it only displays every other horizontal line and keeps the framerate at 30fps, no matter what is happening onscreen. Variable shows all of the horizontal lines and will have the framerate at 60fps when it can but can slow down when the screen gets busy (ie, fireworks going off while in the clouds near a large airship).
