Playing Games on Linux

Is it possible to play games on a linux computer? I'm building my own computer mainly for entertainment like graphics, video watching, and surfing the web, but decided I may want to run some of the lower end games, like Roller Coaster Tycoon and things like that.

You would need a Windows emulator called WINE. It does a fairly god job, but I wouldn't trust it to run everything soothly.

In Directx 8 and under land, WINE is great.
In Directx 9 land, WINE is OK.
In Directx 10 land, WINE is no-where to be fine.
In OpenGL land, WINE is perfect.

Use appDb.

Only like 1 in 10 games fully work and even then they are mostly pretty glitchy.
