needs moar fighting |

Considering that the fighting engine was fantastic (if a little ripped off from God of War and Shadow of Romes' fighting engines), plus the fact that it's based off mythology, you would think that the game would be centered more around fighting, right?
Well... No. As an Action/RPG title, there needs to be an intricate plot put into play. Typical of any RPG, whether it be a traditional one like Lost Odyssey, or one that is more action oriented like Infinite Undiscovery or this title right here! Okay, cool, I like Infinite Undiscovery, it's actually one of my favorite games of 2008 (though inferior to Lost Odyssey), but unfortunately, Atari didn't quite catch the same wavelength here that Square-Enix had for Infinite Undiscovery, because the plot and dialogue makes Rise of the Argonauts...like as if it was supposed to be Infinite Undiscovery meets God of War; millions of characters and bloody combat. Unfortunately, there isn't enough of either and too much of the plot! I wouldn't be annoyed at this...if the cutscenes were actually worth watching. Granted, they move the plot along (unlike Final Fantasy X, where half the cutscenes meant nothing to the plot and were an excuse for Square to show off AMAZING GRAPHICS!!!! on the PS2), a decent amount of them are just... ehh... don't really click or strike as interesting, though the other decent percentage are somewhat interesting, so... well, it can balance out, but unfortunately, the amount of uninteresting cutscenes sort of outnumber the amount of interesting cutscenes, so you'll be left thinking "HURRY THE *bleep* UP ALREADY AND LET ME KILL SOME GODDAMN ENEMY SOLDIERS!!!". I'm not done here. I actually came close to falling asleep during some of the game's cutscenes, but since they require making some choices that will affect how the rest of the game goes, I had to keep myself awake. Last time I did this, was... Well, I can't remember, but it got pretty annoying, I'll put it that way. As many characters and little plotlines Infinite Undiscovery put in, it was better than this game's. At least in Infinite Undiscovery, you don't fall asleep. Interesting or not, they take up most of the game, and with such a good fighting engine, it makes you think...couldn't they have put less emphasis on the plot and more on the action, while keeping it like that of an Action/RPG game, or would it be more of an action game with some slight RPG influence? ------------------- ![]() And now for a post which is either opinionated or truthful; you decide.

Yeah i agree with everything you said tbh.
It definitely needs moar fighting and less cutscenes (interesting or not) I thought it was going to be all kill heaps of enemies kinda game......guess not =/ haha oh well. As for Infinite Undiscovery i haven't really played it or seen much of it but it looks promising -------------------

quote Jezza_93I thought it'd be action packed too, but with at least some semblance of plot development and such. Turned out to be the other way around... You should get Infinite Undiscovery. ------------------- ![]() And now for a post which is either opinionated or truthful; you decide.
