Well, I personally have a lot of faith in the game. I played Escape from Butcher Bay back in the day and it's still one of my favourite games. The level of detail was awesome.
You can kill a guy silently, then drag his body into the shadows, so no-one will be alerted to you. OR you can set traps for guards. Say this guard doesn't go down this specific corridor, but there's 3 guards out in the corridor where he normally walks, place a dead guard in the light down the corridor you want him to come down, he will, and you can kill him silently from the shadows. Yes, EfBB was hard, it's just how the games are. Assault on Dark Athena will most likely be hard as well, seeing as it's a re-make of EfBB, with a new game at the end. It's a good thing though. I'm getting this game. ------------------- ![]() THERE IS NO LIFE AFTER COLD CHISEL

It came out yesterday and is unbelievably good. It looks unbelievably good, and it has everything, mêlée combat, stealth and RPG and FPS. This should be game of the year.

I've heard rumors it came out yesterday here, and not on the 20th. I'll have to check out my local EB Games.

quote Gaming GeezerIt won't be just because it's a remake. Also, I heard the extra content doesn't even compare to the original content. -------------------

I bought this recently having never played the original Escape from Butcher Bay but always having intended doing so and I am mightily impressed. This is easily one of the best, if not THE best movie -> game tie-in I've ever played.
I haven't completed Dark Athena yet as I played through EFBB first. If you like the Thief games then I'd say yea, definitely go for it. It's borrowed quite a lot from there (shooting lights out, moving bodies and so on). It's been extremely refreshing to play a first person shooter that places stealth gameplay over run and gun. The voice acting is superb, not just from Vin Diesel but the rest of the cast is spot on too. The graphics are really nice. It's atmospheric (you can hear Riddick's heart pumping when an enemy is looking for you for example), the game has some really nice hand to hand combat and is filled with gore There was a couple of levels where the standard slipped and entered generic FPS mode but for a 10-12 hour experience, it was top notch for the most part. Both this game and the video of Vin Diesel body popping when he was younger on youtube have earned him much kudos in my book!

Just completed Dark Athena today having finished Buthcer Bay a couple of weeks back and what can I say? This game is worth every penny, no doubt!
All the different aspects of this game are brilliantly combined! Preferring stealth myself I didn't go wrong with this one. The FPS style is awesome, the dark sci-fi feel is most definitely present thanks to the RPG elements both games utilize. You really find yourself engulfed in the madness surrounding you on board The Dark Athena where Zombiefied used-to-be humans are patrolling the decks of the ship - The atmosphere of being incarcerated and seconds later on the run in one of the galaxy's, by far, most dreaded prisons is just as lively! Both games would be worth the retail price, and you get both!
