looking forward to it already.

QUESTION TIME
For those currently in Master League, do you have a preferred player? A player you consider the team can't run without? Mine is currently Vayrynen for Derby County.

Copycat

But yeah Vayrynen is immense for Derby.
But currently it is probably Lee Chun Soo.
Top goalscorer and takes cCK's with Matty Taylor.

Both have stats that are all Yellow/Orange.

yeah, atm for my Real Madrid team it has to be Gago. Reminds me so much of Keano. He's the number one player i have in my starting lineup now.

Ac Milan season 2008 - report

Season 08 has ended. AC Milan had an impressive year.

Finishing 1st in Italian Serie A, and by doing so, holding the 07 title, but that wasn't enough for the 'Rossoneri' squad, as they achieved European Glory in a thrilling match against arch-rivals Inter Milan.

That match was one of the greatest moments in the last season. Ac Milan won by a simple lead (1 x nil), and that's why it became such a great match. Inter Milan proved to be a great opposition as Patrick Viera through ball's to Zalatan 'Ibracadabra' always demanded impressive efforts from Kaladze, Paolo Maldini and Kompany. But in the end, Gennaro Gattuso and his super-human stamina held Ac Milan's defensive line together. Up front, once again Gilardino proved why he outshone Zlatan in the last season: Steven Gerrard's cirurgical cross from a corner-kick reached Gilardino's god-like heading skills and stuffed Inter Milan's net.

Ac Milan finished 'il Calcio' with the best defense and best attack in the League.

Now, for the 2009 season Ac Milan only hired two players: French promise Gignac and Olympique Marseille version of Gennaro Gattuso: M'Bami. Also, the Rossoneri Squad had to say farewell to their 40-year old Captain Paolo Maldini, and Favalli, Emerson, Cafu, 'Pippo' Inzaghi, Aubameyang and Darmian.

During the transfer window Ac Milan played against Real Madrid, ManUtd and Bayern München, in a series of European Friendlies with the intent of testing different formations. Real Madrid suffered the worse defeat: a hammering 5x1 (with a hat-trick from Obafemi Martins) in wich Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored the 'goal of honour' for the spanish side. ManUtd, with an inspired Rooney and a Speed-Devil Cristiano Ronaldo, proved to be a much harder side with the outcome of a 2x1, to Ac Milan, btw, in a match in wich the 'Rossoneri' squad saw Clarence Seedorf bringing the responsability for himself, as ManUtd scored first and then, the italian squad, in an unusual way, became very unsettled, having Pirlo and Nesta sent off before 60 minutes, anyway, C. Seedorf with his potent shots equalised and then claimed the lead before the Red Devil knew what hit'em. Bayern München was a much easier task, with the italian squad winning by 3x0 neil.

Well, that pretty much sums up the 08 season for European and Italian Champion's Ac Milan. We'll report later on the 09 season, wich the Coach expects to be Alex Pato's season.

Derby County
'The New Beginning'

Sky Sports
are proud to announce that they will cover both legs of Derby County's Divison D2 league cup 1 Round clash against Valenciennes FC. you can expect first class analysis from our team and we wish them all luck in their campaign to become Cup champions.

Hjk Helsinki 0-2 Derby County

38' Vayrynen
70' Earnshaw

Earnshaw
My Vayrynen

Cards: Fagan (Yellow) - 41 minutes

Earnshaw took his hands out of his pockets for this encounter, after his sending off, the media and maybe even Frank Stapleton were adamant he's be out by the summer but he left the media gobsmacked when he capped off an amazing game with a goal which put Derby in the comfort zone after 50 minutes.

league position: up to third

-------------------

Derby County 1-0 PSG

45' Teale

Vayrynen
My Vayrynen

Cards: Darren Moore - 17 minutes

Derby County again as usual were on the attack in the early stages this was not disrupted by the extremely harsh sending off of Darren Moore for a fair challenge on Rothen because he was the last man the referee could only award the red which left the Derby dugout and half the fans astonished. Derby then had to reshuffle the pack bringing on Teale and M. Johnson for Earnshaw and Todd respectively. Teale proved a super-sub as make-shift forward and headed in a lovely cross from none other than Vayrynen.

league position: up to second

Lincoln City SOMS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Holloway Ditches Foxes For Imps
Lincoln City today unveiled former Bristol Rovers, QPR, Plymouth and Leicester boss Ian Holloway as their new manager. Chairman Steve Williams said of his new recruit "Ian is a positive manager, a pro-active manager and a charismatic manager. I think this club can finally move up the leagues under his stewardship." When asked why Ian was appointed the chairman replied "We wanted someone who would bring new ideas to the club and I thought Ian was the right man for the job but initially Milan Mandaric was adamant he was staying there. When that happened I tried to get Glenn Hoddle on board but he decided that he wanted a bit more time out of the game. I approached Wolves about Mick McCarthy but they said he was staying put for the forseeable future. I was in dire straits then I got a call from Ian himself and we had a casual chat about the position, an hour later he handed in his resignation, called me back and said he'd take the job, I was delighted."
The chairman was clearly delighted by his new manager, and the man himself seemed very excited about his new job. "I think this could be the start of something wonderful, I really do. This club has great potential, they have some talented youngsters, they're building a new stadium and they have a great chairman in Mr. Williams and I want to be part of this clubs future."
When asked about former club Leicester and the terms he left on he said "It was a disaster there, Milan wanted me to win the league and get promoted just like that. I'm no magician and I don't work miracles. I was working under pressure to get results, and the players were under it too and that just wasn't right for me. I wanted to work in a different environment and Lincoln have offered me that. Mr. Mandaric said he was sad to see me go but wouldn't stand in my way."
Captain Hercules Minanda joined his new manager at the press conference and said "I am looking forward to playing under Mr. Holloway..." at which point Holloway jumped in with "Dont call me that skipper, call me the Gaffer or something" Minanda continued: "erm, ok, the Gaffer has told me his plans and I am more than happy with his appointment, hopefully we can win something or get promoted this year but who knows."
So with a new chairman and new manager, will The Imps finally get some glory from the man from Cadbury Heath.
Dismal Start For Holloway
Lincoln 1-4 Preston
4' S. John
10' S. John
41' Gera
55' Gutierrez
84' S. John
Stern John
Ian Holloway's first game in charge ended in a home drubbing
at the hands of Preston. A lack lustre performance by the
home side meant they were soundly beaten before half time.
Two early goals from Stern John had Lincoln shattered and
Holloway was clearly frustrated when Jaric was sent off with
only 40 minutes gone. Gera's free kick finding the top
corner with Ivarov standing still.
Gutierrez got one back ten minutes into the second half
to ironic cheers of the home fans who hadnt seen a shot
of any meaning all day. Then with six minutes remaining
John got his Hat-trick and took the ball home with him.
After the match Holloway said of the referee "If he's gonna
book players for those sorts of tackles he should be reffing
a non-contact sport. How he decided it was a red I have no idea."
When asked about the actual result he replied "were you
watching the match? we were a shambles, what else can I
say, poor all over the park."
Lincoln will want to buck up their ideas, the next visitors
to Sincil Bank are Birmingham.
