Drag race help |
|
My Dodge Charger RT (for drag races) used to hit about 160mph in 3rd gear before I added more upgrades to it. Now I have a 4th gear, but as soon as I shift to it, the car loses revs and only lets me rev it to about half way. Also, the car is only maxing 150-160mph per race now, whereas before I could do 180+ with NOS.
How do I fix it? This message was edited by HamsterMan on Jun 13 2009. ------------------- ![]() Credit to Slumpy Monkey

Shorten your 4th gear; if its bogging down when you shift into 4th, shorten your gear up some, and it should fix the problem. Keep playing with your gear ratios. If you make them too long, the vehicle will bog down, and if they're too short, the vehicle will hae a very low top speed.

Done that and managed to fix it, thanks.
I bought a Toyota Supra (as I heard they were the best/one of the best drag cars). I've managed to tune the engine and drivetrain so it's perfect now, at 833bhp on a 2nd stage engine (can't afford 3rd yet). When I accelerate, I can pull wheelies and keep it there until I hit 4th/5th, but the problem I'm having with it is that it has a tendency to veer off to the left or the right occasionally. What can I change that will stop it from doing this? I'm definitely not toughing the analogue/d pad so it's not me - it's the car. ------------------- ![]() Credit to Slumpy Monkey
