to the lock items: they are amazing, used properly they can just run the game for you. I always used a scarfed ttar, people never expected him to be so fast. made for alot of switch kills.

Scarf Ttar is quite awesome, yes. Scarf Torterra, for the sake of literal revenge (as opposed to revenge killing) is capable of just barely outspeeding Infernape, whose shadow cast last Gen was enough to cover Torterra entirely. Now, however, the forest tortoise can land a super effective hit on EVERY weather starter in the game (its STABs alone get all but Aboma, which of course is rare) while also erasing the fire ape from the game with a STAB EQ.

The thing actually has a damn good moveset, so I figured it might work with a Choice set. Very often, it does. As a point of reference, if you're not sure whether or not you can outspeed something, if the something can outspeed Infernape, then it can outspeed you (or use the Musketeer trio, which share the speed stat of Nape. or Galvantula, but...)

I liked Swampert alot Gen IV, but he doesnt seem to fit on my Gen V teams. Golurk will be nice once No Guard is released, since it gets Dynamicpunch and its STAB Ghost typing gives it perfect coverage to go with it.

swampert is one of my favorites.

although i dont use ground types on my teams all that much.

Really? thats poke 101, you really should look up all types strengths and weaknesses. It helps alot to know which moves will be more effective and which pokes you should switch.

Obviously Steelix is the best ground type, since its dual-type is Steel, which is the best

Really though, I've never used that many Ground types. Donphan and Claydol are decent. Landorus isn't bad either.
