	Log in to remove this sponsored message I just read that only the Terran campaign is going to be in the first Starcraft 2 game. Then they are going to sell a Starcraft 2 Zerg game, and a Starcraft 2 Protoss game. But you'll be able to play multiplayer across the different versions of course. Sort of seems like a money grab to me.

	Damn.. Thats not the best of ideas. Yeah, they can make each one more epic, but now you are paying anywhere from 60-150 for the entire game (that is if they release each one for 50 bucks) This is a really bad idea... The Terran campaign is 26-30 missions, which is about as much as Starcraft 1 had in total adding up all the races, so I don't think we're getting undercut in content at all. It also means that each campaign will have a lot more pre-rendered cutscenes. They want to make each campaign unique, with the Terran campaign having you control Raynor in a ship making decisions, the Zerg campaign is more RPG-like (probably involving some evolution), and the Protoss campaign has some sort of diplomacy going on. The expansions will most likely add stuff to multiplayer, just as Broodwar did. The reason they offered for doing this is so we don't have to wait even longer for the game to come out. Just think about it. The complete game will have ~90 missions, which is a RIDICULOUS amount of content, so it is completely fair to have it split into 2 expansion packs. Link I got some friends at BlizzCon right now who talked to Dustin Browder (the lead designer) in person. Dustin is passionate about this game. He knows SC has a loyal fanbase who are expecting nothing short of amazing. After reading that article, it sounds like a good move. The same can be said about playing multiplayer, since you're playing against the same 3 races over and over again. The missions are going to be much more open than SC. You can take multiple paths that lead to different missions. The Terran campaign focuses more on money. As Jim Raynor's crew, you have salvage parts for money and buy new tech (kind of like a pseudo-RPG). 	Well that's lame. I don't see how they'll market three full priced game that all offer the same multiplayer when Starcraft is clearly popular because of battlenet. I probably won't be buying into it, unless the campaigns are incredibly awesome. The "Each campaign should feel like an epic story" is a good sign. 	I suppose, I kind of like the idea of going RPG-like, I like strategy games and RPG games. So it'll be fine, but what I'm saying is, I'm not willing to pay for all 3 games. Although, if the Terran Campaign is seriously epic, I'll get the other two. I'd like to check out the "upgrades". If that's what they are planning to do, it'll be the biggest mistake they can possibly make. That's basically saying to all the pirates: "hey welcome aboard." Seriously, if all three games consist of the exactly same multiplayer section, I can just see so many people paying for the 1st game so they can play online, and then get pirated copies for the next two and won't miss out on any single player action. My guess is it'll be just like BW where each new expansion will add more units and features than the original. But still, it sucks that instead of paying for two games with all three races playable in either, we have to buy three games with only one playable race in each. -------------------

	Since they will be splitting the games up can you still skirmish or play custom game with either race because that's all i really ever do.

	As the ShackNews article already stated, the campaigns are going to be huge. ~30 missions each, tons of CG cutscenes and in-game cutscenes that look amazing. It would be impossible to pack all that stuff into 1 game. If you remember the Terran preview from Blizzcon '07, you control Jim Raynor in the Hyperion in between missions (like a point & click adventure game), where you can tell him what to say in conversation, decide which missions to take and even explore the ship. These campaigns are going to be so good. Do you guys remember how bad SC1's campaigns were? Each race played essentially the same. This time, they play completely different from each other. 	The second trailer was awesome too (aside from being about 15 seconds out of sync by the end). I did like the part about there being multiple threads in the middle of the story though. 	It might sound dissappointing, but it's Blizzard, and their general motive is to please fans. They have more money than they need right now with their constant success. WoW alone reels them in enough money to live and function off of. The games might not even retail as high as you'd think, and honestly, I have no doubts. Most people play for multiplayer anyways, and most people usually have a prefferable race. So in the event you actually do want to play single player, buy the game about whichever faction you like most. Which should be the Protoss, by the way. ------------------- TONI RUB THAT BONEY 2012

	I'm not 100% sure, but I think this will be awesome. I think every Blizzard game i've played has been awesome, and I really don't think they'd ruin StarCraft by doing this just for money. I reckon it'll be worth it. I mostly play Multiplayer like most people, but if the camp is as epic as it's supposed to be, then i'm all for it. ------------------- Credit to SXH!

I'm not saying SC2 won't be ground-breaking like Diablo, Warcraft, and original SC. I'm sure their programmers are just as passionate as the fans when it comes to making a great game, but the only things their marketing/sales people can see are dollar signs. Unless they actually decide to charge three games combined at a price that's slightly higher than a normal single game, but I just don't see that happening. -------------------
