And surprisingly, that's not going to change even with the announcement of Soul Calibur Legends for the system. Namco has plans to bring the popular series to the Wii, but in an entirely different way than expected.
First appearing in this week's issue of Famitsu, Legends is described as an action adventure game rather than a fighter. Set in the 16th century, players will be able to meet characters from the Soul Calibur world and experience sword-based combat that makes use of the Wiimote.
Famitsu was able to unveil nothing more than a logo for the game and did not even provide a release date. We presume this means a release is a ways off.
quote The legendary weapon-based fighting game franchise has been reinvented as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced Soulcalibur Legends exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. Developed specifically for the innovative console, Soulcalibur Legends fully immerses players in a third person action adventure and takes a unique approach to the series by truly utilizing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. An unparalleled experience awaits gamers when Soulcalibur Legends is released this winter. To date the Soul series has sold more than 9 million units worldwide.
"Over the past ten years, since the release of the original Soulblade, the team behind the Soulcalibur series has pushed the envelope of technology and innovation with each iteration," said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. "With Soulcalibur Legends, they saw the opportunity to once again create an immersive experience that is unique to the franchise."

Feel free to discuss all these info and add here everything you will come across.
My feeling is this game will be awesome based on what we have yet and might be the right time to finally have a good fighting game based adventure for once.
The thing about the outfits selectable is cool, also having new characters. Cervantes is a big plus since he was a major in SB, even though i guess he will be a boss and not playable.
I would really like to see Mina also, but other than that we'll have a great game i'm confident.
Selecting all the outfits from SC to SCIII was something I hoped SCIV would have, but SCL seem like having that. Nah, Cervantes will probably a playable character like the others. Those monsters you saw are probably the bosses of each Mission or whatever to call it.
Siegfried seem to be the main character and something that I noticed was that all of them tried to save him. Ivy & Taki saved his ass.
Yeah i noticed too but i heard that whatever character you choose a second player can enter when he wants with his choosen character so if you play as Taki, Ivy or Sieg might arrive later and save her ass and vice versa.
Yeah, if you play alone and a friend wants to get in the game he chooses a character and starts at the same point to help you.
Also supposed to be that you may change your character in the middle of a level.
Ex: I play as Sieg but start having trouble so pause and going into the options would give me the chance to let Sieg retire and have some rest when i can continue with Ivy.
That is complicated and i guess most unlikely to happen but i should try and find the article somewhere. I just read it in a mag but i'll post it if i come across.
Also i just came across an article i would post if it was not in french only but there might be ONLINE PLAY!
Can you imagine a cooperation between 2 ppl that don't meet each other with Sieg and Taki or Taki and Ivy?
